Crafty Secrets Farm Chicks Blog Hop

Good morning! Welcome to the Crafty Secrets Farm Chicks Blog Hop! Each design team member has used the new Farm Chicks Digital Art Stamps and/or the new Digital Chicken Farm Print paper to create an "egg-citing" chicken themed project for you to enjoy!

I love farm images, and that's a fact! I grew up spending a lot of time at my relatives' farms. My favorite thing to do was feed the chickens! I created this vintage-look rooster card, perfect for a guy or gal. And yes, I realize my chicken wire is SIDEWAYS, but don't judge me! I have been away from farms for a very long time!

I love the kraft and black mixed with ivory and red. Very country chic! I started with a 5" x 6" black card base - my new "go to" card size! To create the barn wood background, I used the "brown wood flowers" paper from the Birds and Blooms Digital Paper Collection and selected the area I wanted to print (I only wanted the wood grain, not the flowers).

Before printing, I added the sentiment from the Farm Chicks Digital Stamp Set to the lower left corner. I also added the birthday sentiment using a font called Another Typewriter. I printed the background paper and sentiments all in one go! I printed the (sideways) chicken wire paper form the Creating with Vintage Patterns CD. The chicken wire image also comes as part of the Farm Chicks set, however, I wanted the "pre distressed" version that was already printed at 8" x 8" and sitting on my table. {grin} I rubbed all the papers with Walnut Stain Distress ink to grunge them up.

The rooster image is also from the Farm Chicks Digital Stamp set. I enlarged the image to 3" x 3" and printed it onto ivory paper. I colored the image with Copic markers. 

Nothing says country like checked ribbon, twine, and a rusty bell. Ok, fields of cows say country, too, but you get my drift! 

If you wanted to stamp a sentiment onto the card, simply print out your digital paper and stamp onto it with your favorite stamps and inks! Thanks for checking out my post today!
