Heartfelt Creations Wednesday - Joy to the World

Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday! I decided to whip out the Christmas papers this week!

I have a good reason for creating another Christmas card...really...I do! I had a bunch of stamped and die cut poinsettias on my desk and I wanted to make some flowers...that's it in a nutshell! {giggle} Plus, I had the urge to create something with lots of gold!

Create a 6" x 6" card by trimming black cardstock to 6" x 12" and scoring at 6" on the long side to make a 6" x 6" top-fold card. Cut poinsettia paper from the Sparkling Poinsettia Paper Collection to 5 7/8" x 5 7/8" and wrap a length of gold ribbon around the top of the panel. Secure the ribbon to the back of the paper and attach the panel to the card front. Trim striped paper from the Sparkling Poinsettia Paper Collection to 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" mat with deep berry red cardstock cut to 4 7/8" x 7 7/8". Mat the panel again with gold metallic cardstock cut to 5" x 5" and attach the panel to the center of the card.

Use the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Squares die to trim gold cardstock. Use foam adhesive to attach the decorative square to the center of the card. Stamp the Joy to the World sentiment from the Joy to the World Cling Stamp Set onto deep berry red cardstock with gold ink. Heat emboss with gold embossing powder. Trim the sentiment to approximately 2 7/8" x 2 7/8". Matt the sentiment with black cardstock cut to 3" x 3" and attach to the center of the decorative gold square.

Create a bow from the gold ribbon and glue to the upper right corner of the card. Stamp the leaves from the Large Sparkling Poinsettia Cling Stamp Set onto Deep Spring Green cardstock with black ink. Stamp the Sparkling Poinsettia Cling Stamp Set onto Deep Berry Red cardstock with black ink. Use the Large Sparkling Poinsettia Die and the Sparkling Poinsettia Die to cut out the leaves and flowers. Shape the flowers and leaves (watch THIS video to learn how to shape Sparkling Poinsettia flowers), then glue three flowers together to form one poinsettia. Brush the flower and leaves with Light Gold High Impact Mixed Media Paint and allow the paper to dry. Glue gold micro beads to the center of the flower. Glue the poinsettia and three leaves to the upper right edge of the card.

Decorate the inside of the card by cutting paper from the Sparkling Poinsettia Paper Collection to 5 5/8" x 5 5/8" and matting with deep berry red cardstock cut to 5 3/4" x 5 3/4". Matt the panel again with gold cardstock cut to 5 7/8" x 5 7/8". Attach the panel to the inside of the card.

Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Today is the start of the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! We’re so thrilled to get this party started

There is an amazing listing of over 40 generous prize sponsors! Make sure to visit the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog for all the details. The Link Tool is posted on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog as well. You are welcome to link up between Friday, September 25th at 6 am pacific through Friday, October 2nd at 11:59 pm pacific. There are no limits to the number of entries, the more the merrier. Please remember that your projects must be FALL themed.

Here is my contribution!

I recently purchased NEW coffee-themed stamps and dies, plus NEW fall-themed papers! Win-win! I have had the wood-grain mini bags for AGES, so it is about time I used one...I have 9 more to hoard! {giggle)

I went with a pumpkin spice theme...because...well, YUM!

The little bag is the perfect size to hold a Starbucks gift card! Happy day! I stamped the coffee mug image onto the bag, and then again onto patterned paper. I used my mad fussy cutting skills to cut out the coffee mug image, and then I attached it to the bag with foam tape. The "steam" is a sticker.

I decorated the inside of the card, too. I found a "pumpkin spice" sticker border. Which is perfect, because I love pumpkin spice anything!

I hope you have fun looking at all the other entries. Please link up one of your own! See the linky HERE

If my card design looks familiar, it is because I copied myself!

Heartfelt Creations Wednesday - Enchanted Mum Tag

Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday! I have created another Enchanted Mum project, using a fall color palette this time!

I cannot create enough tags, especially if I have a chance to use the Graphic 45 Tag Staples! The regular size tags are perfect for creating altered gift card holders. I created this beautiful tag with a pocket to hold a gift card, some cash, or a love note! {giggle}

By this time of the year, I am sick of hot weather and dream of cool, crisp days. I may as well keep dreaming, because that is NOT happening any time soon here in Southern California! I do what I can by creating with fall colors and decorating my house for fall.

Create a 5 3/4" x 3 7/8" pocket tag by covering a Graphic 45 Regular Kraft Tag with paper from the Farmers Market Paper Collection. Trim around the tag and use a 5/8" circle punch to punch a hole for the grommet. Sponge the edges of the paper with Rich Cocoa ink.

Trim Blazing Poppy paper to 4" x 3 7/8". Use a 1 1/4" circle punch to cut a notch out of the top of the Blazing Poppy panel. Sponge the edges of the paper with Rich Cocoa ink. Attach double-sided tape to both sides and the bottom of the notched panel and adhere it to the tag, 1/2" from the bottom edge, creating a pocket.

Wrap a length of plaid ribbon around the tag, 3 1/4" from the bottom edge. Secure the ribbon at the back of the tag. Cover the back of the tag with a 4" x 3 7/8" piece of Farmers Market paper, thus hiding the ribbon ends.

Stamp the Enchanted Mum Cling Stamp Set two times onto ivory cardstock with Rich Cocoa ink. Color the flowers with various brown and tan chalk inks, then "dust" the edges of the petals with Spiced Marmalade Distress ink. Use the Enchanted Mum Die to cut the flowers.

Shape two large, one medium, and one small flower into one mum, as shown. (Watch THIS Video to learn how to shape the Enchanted Mums.) Use Glossy Accents to add gold micro beads to the flower center. Glue the large mum to the lower right side of the tag.

Stamp the large leaves from the Delightful Daisies Cling Stamp Set twice and the small leaf once onto ivory cardstock with Rich Cocoa ink. Color the leaves with green chalk inks, and then sponge a bit of Spiced Marmalade Distress ink onto the edges. Use the Delightful Daisy Die to cut out the leaves, and then shape them. Tuck the three leaves around the edges of the large mum as shown.

Stamp the birds from the Birds and Blooms Cling Stamp Set onto ivory cardstock with Rich Cocoa ink. Color two birds with chalk inks and use the Birds and Blooms Die to cut them out. Use foam adhesive to attach two birds to the flower embellishment. Tuck a few loops of antique gold burlap string under the upper left and lower right edges of the flower and glue in place. Tie a bow with plaid ribbon and attach it to the upper left edge of the tag.

Stamp the sentiment from the Heartfelt Sentiments Cling Stamp Set onto ivory cardstock with Rich Cocoa ink. Use the Spellbinders Back to Basics Tags die to cut out the sentiment. Sponge the sentiment with Spiced Marmalade Distress ink before removing it from the die. Then, sponge the sentiment edges with Rich Cocoa ink. Use foam adhesive to attach the sentiment to the top left of the tag, lining up the hole in the sentiment tag with the grommet of the large tag. Place a decorative brad into the hole and secure. Place a gift card into the pocket.

Heartfelt Creations Wednesday - Happiness is...

Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday! I have diverged from my normal, use-every-piece-of-printed-paper-you-own style today! I wanted to create something ultra elegant and unexpected.

Well, the full truth is...I was putting away some of my hoard, and came across a huge box of metallic cardstock left over from when I was on the WorldWin Papers design team. (I am still so bummed that they disbanded that team!) I really wanted to use up some of the paper, and this is what I came up with. This card is all sparkle and shimmer!

Create a 6" x 6" card by trimming black cardstock to 6" x 12" and scoring at 6" on the long side to make a 6" x 6" top-fold card. Cut blue metallic paper to 5 7/8" x 5 7/8" and attach to the card front. Emboss black metallic cardstock with a lattice embossing folder (from Crafter's Companion) and trim to 5 3/4" x 5 3/4". Attach the embossed panel to the card front.

Use the Decorative Oval Die to cut a shape from blue metallic cardstock. Attach the shape in a horizontal orientation to the center of the card front using foam adhesive.

Use the largest Spellbinders Fleur de Elegance die to cut a shape from silver metallic cardstock. While the cardstock is still in the die, sponge with Salty Ocean distress ink. Remove the paper from the die and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Attach the shape in a vertical orientation to the center of the card with foam adhesive.

Using silver pigment ink, stamp the Enchanted Mum Swirling Buds image from the Single Enchanted Mum Cling Stamp Set onto smooth black cardstock. Heat emboss the image with silver embossing powder. Using colored pencils, color the image, making sure not to color the embossed areas.

Use the largest oval die in the Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large die set to cut out the image. Sponge the edges of the oval with silver ink. Use foam adhesive to attach the image to the center of the card as shown.

Stamp the sentiment from the Single Enchanted Mum Cling Stamp Set with silver pigment ink onto smooth black cardstock and heat emboss with silver embossing powder. Use the Arrow Banner die from the Everyday Heroes Die Set to cut out the sentiment. Sponge the edges of the banner with silver ink. Use foam adhesive to attach the banner to the lower left side of the card, tucking the edge of the banner under the black oval as shown.

Tie a bow from white and sliver metallic ribbon and glue to the top of the Fleur de Elegance shape. Tie a bow with metallic silver string and glue to the top of the ribbon bow. Glue a gem to the top of the bow silver string bow.

Line the inside of the card by cutting blue metallic cardstock to 5 7/8" x 5 7/8" and attaching it to the inside panel. Attach a panel of white cardstock, cut the 5 3/4" x 5 3/4", to the blue panel.

Graphic 45 - World's Fair Mini Album

The end of summer always makes me think of The Fair! All my life, until recent years, I spent time at the State Fair in the areas where I've lived. Since moving to Southern California, we've been to the San Diego fair only once. I miss the old-fashioned fairs of my childhood. However, I have such a passion for the World's Fairs of the past.

The Graphic 45 World's Fair Collection is the perfect collection to use for creating a mini album. This collection has many images and sentiments that make decorating a mini album fun and easy! Paper bag mini albums are always popular, and the addition of Graphic 45 Tag Staples makes this one the star of the fair!

This mini is approximately 5 3/8" x 5 1/8" with a 1/2" spine. A bit of cord keeps the book together for display purposes.

The style of the album is a "fan mini" meaning that it has a small binding, allowing the album to "fan out" when it is sitting on a desk or table.

Each of the paper bag pockets contains one Graphic 45 Regular Kraft Tag.

Each of the tags is decorated with images cut from the paper. Some of the tags contain pockets and journaling spots. The backs of the tags are suitable for adding photos.

Each page of the mini is chock full of tags and journaling spots, and just amazing goodness! The video slideshow below has images of every page!

The tags pull out, and are themselves works of art! Each tag is perfect for use in the mini album, or they can be removed and used to embellish scrapbook pages, gift bags, or packages!

Some of the tags hold smaller tags and journaling spots!

The are lots of flip-out pages and pockets.

This little project is simple to create, but packs a lot of style!

To create the album base, select four paper lunch bags. Fold each bag in half to create a surface approximately 5 3/8" x 5 1/4". Trim two pieces of medium weight chipboard to 5" x 5 1/4" to act as the front and back covers. Create a spine from kraft cardstock 16" x 5 1/4", score at every inch and accordion fold.

Stack the folded lunch bags together, one atop the other. Glue one piece of chipboard to the top of the first bag. Glue the second piece of chipboard to the back of the fourth bag.

Glue the lunch bags to the accordion fold spine, skipping every other "valley." Glue a piece of cardstock, cut to 5 1/4" x 4", to cover the spine.

Decorate the cover as shown. For more details, see the video slideshow below.

Use flowers and metal items to create interest on the cover.

The back cover is plain. Add a jump ring to the back cover, and then tie some cord to it.

Slip the cord around to the front of the album and loop over the tiny "handle" on the front cover.

For a look at the complete project, view the slideshow!

Really Reasonable Ribbon September Blog Hop

If you are looking for my Graphic 45 Christmas cards, please click HERE and HERE.

Good morning, Blogger Peeps! I am guest designing for Really Reasonable Ribbon again this month and it is time for the September Blog Hop

You should be coming to my blog from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog. (For the complete blog list, scroll to the bottom of the post.) After visiting me, hop over to Ginny's Blog next!

Here is a peeky at the RRR September Ribbon Club Assortment

I love this cute and spooky ribbon pack! I plan to order more of that amazing orange plaid!

It is not a secret that I have a vast hoard of Graphic 45 paper, including all the Halloween collections! I pulled them all out to create this orange and black Halloween mish mash card! Anyone remember that song...about the Monster Mash? That's what I was thinking of when I created this messy masterpiece. {grin}

I tied a bow with the orange plaid with black stitching ribbon from the September Club, and then topped it with a chipboard "charm" and a loopy bow made from black burlap string

I sneaked in a bit of the spiderwebs with black grosgrain ribbon as well. I was inspired by the spiderweb ribbon, which made me pull out an older set of Papertrey Ink dies and cut some webs!

I also purchased a set of word dies a few years ago. I cut the Trick or Treat sentiment from black cardstock, and then cut it again out of orange print paper. I used just the "or" from the printed paper. Cool, right?! My friend Jacquie shared this technique with me ages ago, and I still find the idea of "nested die shapes" fascinating. It is a great way to make the same old die look a bit different!

I stamped the inside of the card with my new Graphic 45  Rare Oddities stamps!

Thanks for stopping by today! Now, hop over to Ginny's Blog next!

Here is the RRR Blog Hop Order in case you get lost!

Heartfelt Creations Wednesday - September Release!

Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday! Today is September Release Day! The new collection is called Enchanted Mum and comes with a paper pad, five stamp sets, and three die sets!

I created a sweet card with dragonflies dancing all around. The combination of pink, purple, and green makes me think of whimsical gardens and warm breezes.

Create a 6" x 6" card by trimming black cardstock to 6" x 12" and scoring at 6" on the long side to make a 6" x 6" top-fold card. Cut green print paper from the Enchanted Mum Paper Collection to 5 7/8" x 5 7/8" and attach to the card front.

Trim pink striped paper from the Enchanted Mum Paper Collection to 5 3/8" x 5 3/8". Wrap pink corsage ribbon around the top of the panel and secure at the back. Wrap green satin ribbon around the lower part of the panel, where the striped pattern begins, and secure at the back. Mat panel with black cardstock cut to 5 1/2" x 5 1/2".  Attach the panel to the center of the card front with foam adhesive.

Stamp the dragonfly vine image from the Enchanted Dragonflies Cling Stamp Set with black ink onto white cardstock. Color the image with markers. Use the vine die from the Enchanted Dragonflies Die set to cut out the vine. Use foam tape to attach the vine to the card, approximately 1 3/4" from the top edge.

Stamp the dragonflies from the Enchanted Dragonflies Cling Stamp Set with black ink onto white cardstock. Color the image with markers. Use the dragonflies die from the Enchanted Dragonflies Die set to cut out the dragonflies. Shape the dragonflies with the tools in the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. Glue three of the dragonflies to the vine image as show, reserving one dragonfly image for the sentiment.

Stamp the smallest mum from the Enchanted Mum Cling Stamp Set three times onto white cardstock with black ink. Color the flowers with markers and use the Enchanted Mum Die to cut the flowers. Shape the flowers into one mum, as shown, and glue flower to the center of the dragonfly vine.

Stamp the sentiment image from the Enchanted Dragonflies Cling Stamp Set with black ink onto white cardstock. Color the image with markers. Use the matching die from the Enchanted Dragonflies Die set to cut out the sentiment, and use foam tape to attach the sentiment to the lower center of the card front, overlapping the green ribbon. Glue the remaining dragonfly image to the leaf of the sentiment. Tie a double bow with the pink corsage ribbon and glue to the top center of the card.

Decorate the inside of the card by cutting white cardstock to 5 7/8" x 5 7/8". Attach a 1 1/2" x 5 7/8" strip of printed paper to the bottom edge of the white cardstock. Use plum berry pigment ink to stamp the dragonfly vine image from the Enchanted Mum Bouquet Cling Stamp Set into the upper left corner of the cardstock. Attach the white panel to the inside of the card.
