Scraps of Life: Heartfelt Creations Wednesday

Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday! Many of you are probably enjoying lovely fall weather, with lots of fall color. Here in southern CA, it has been hot, hot, and more hot. The weather has been more July than October, so far. I am making myself feel "fall-ish" by crating some cards with autumn colors!

I decided to pair the Farmers Market Collection with the Enchanted Mum Collection this month. I love the images in the Farmers Market paper pad. I created a lovely rust-red mum to match!

Create a 6" x 5" top-fold card from dark brown cardstock by trimming cardstock to 12" x 5" and scoring at 6" on the long side. Trim the diamond print paper from the Farmers Market Paper Collection to 5 7/8" x 4 7/8".

Use the doily die from the Decorative Flower Pot Die Set to trim two doily shapes from dark brown cardstock. Place the doily shapes along the left edge of the diamond print paper, overlapping the doily as necessary to create a border that is 5 7/8" long. Trim green Farmers Market Paper to 5 3/4" x 1 1/4" and attach to the doily border.

Wrap rust shimmer satin ribbon around the center of the doily border and attach at the back of the diamond print paper. Attach the panel to the card front.

Trim the image from Farmers Market paper and attach to dark brown cardstock. Fussy cut around the image to create a shaped mat. Attach the image to the card front with foam adhesive, 1 1/4" from the top and 2" from the left edge of the card.

Stamp the Enchanted Mum Cling Stamp Set two times onto ivory cardstock with Rich Cocoa ink. Use the Enchanted Mum Die to cut out the flowers. Spray one large, two medium, and two small flowers with Tattered Angles Fire Baseboard Spray. Blot excess spray with a paper towel. Allow the flowers to dry until just slightly damp (use a heat tool to speed up the process). Crumple each flower into a ball and allow the flowers to dry completely. Gently unfold each flower and burnish the center with a flower-shaping stylus. Glue the flowers together to create one large bloom, as shown. Glue the large mum to the left side of the image.

Stamp the large leaf from the Delightful Daisies Cling Stamp onto ivory cardstock with Rich Cocoa ink. Color the leaf with green chalk inks. Use the Delightful Daisy Die to cut out the leaf, and then shape it. Tuck the leaf under the upper left edge of the mum.

Trim the diamond print paper from the Farmers Market Paper Collection to 5 7/8" x 4 7/8" and attach to the inside of the card. Trim ivory cardstock to 5 1/2" x 4 1/2" and attach it to the inside panel. Use Rich Cocoa ink to stamp the sentiment from the Heartfelt Sentiments Cling Stamp Set onto the panel as desired.
