Our hop theme is "ladies' night"! Which can mean anything girlie or feminine, glitzy, sparkly, glamorous, or pink! I chose to make a hot pink card that also featured cute boots! What's ladies' night without cute boots?!!

As soon as I saw the Spring Boots stamp from Great Impressions, I knew I wanted it! It is totally adorable, plus I also selected the companion sentiment stamp, Really Cute Boots. What is sweeter than pink rain boots?! Nothing!
To create the card, I started with an A6 Brown Bag Kraft Card which I sponged with white ink. (An A6 card is 4 1/2" x 6 1/4".) I used a large scallop die template to trim a piece of Pop Tones Razzleberry Cardstock. I trimmed a piece of Whip Cream Pop Tones Cardstock with an open scallop die template and layered it over the razzleberry scallop. (Don't you love the color names of this cardstock?!)

I trimmed the scallop borders to approximately 1 1/2" wide and 6 1/4" long, and attached them to the top of the card. I wrapped the top of the card with pink ribbon and glued a bow to the right corner as shown.

I stamped the Spring Boots image onto watercolor cardstock with black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I colored the image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and Gansai Tambi watercolor paints. I love how fast and easy it was to color with the watercolors, but I got the saturated look that is more common with alcohol markers or colored pencils. I used ONE pink Zig marker for the boots! I simply added more water to get the lighter shading, and I added the white paint from the watercolor paint set to a few ares to get a very pale, opaque pink.

Once the image was dry, I used circle dies to cut it out, along with two circle mats from the Whip Cream and Razzleberry cardstock. I popped the image with foam adhesive squares

I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of the Whip Cream cardstock and die cut it with a stitched rectangle die template. I added the sentiment to the card front with foam squares. I hot glued a few pink and blue flowers to the edge of the image. I love the hot pink and pale blue together! I lined the inside of the card with more of the Whip Cream cardstock. (I may need a ream of that stuff! It is my favorite color of "ivory"!)

Thanks for hopping along! Make sure you visit all the blogs in the list! Leave a comment on each blog for a chance to win some prizes!!
