Welcome to the May Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop! Each month, on the last Tuesday of the month, the Heartfelt Creations Alumni Team participates in a Blog Hop! Be sure to visit each blog on the hop, and leave a comment, because one fortunate Blogger will be chosen to receive a $25 gift card to Heartfelt Creations! The winner will be announced on Saturday, June 4th, at noon. The May Hop starts 8am EST on Tuesday, May 31st and closes Friday, June 3rd at midnight.
You should be coming to my blog from Allisa Wells' Blog. After visiting me, head on over to Archana Joshi's Blog. For a list of the Alumni Blogs, see the end of the post.
I created a monochromatic card this month! My friends at Really Reasonable Ribbon had a monochromatic challenge a few weeks ago and the amazing Cheryl colored some flowers in a sepia tone. It looked so great that I have been wanting to give it a try!
I decided to use a tan/gray/black/white scheme for my 8" x 8" card. I had a little trouble with the ribbon, which photographed a bit on the yellow-green side! I chose the Blooming Berries Cling Stamp Set as my focal art.
I stamped the image with brown ink and then colored it with Copic markers. I used mostly the Warm Gray inks (W00, W1, W3, and W5). I also added just a tiny bit of E0000, E000, E40, and R0000, with an outline of C00. I have never tried this technique (or if I have, I do not remember doing it). I really had fun and love how the image turned out. I want to try it again with some other images!
I created a flower spray with flowers and leaves made from Celebrate the Journey and Everyday Heroes papers.
I added some chipboard items, which I painted with gesso and then inked with a gray ink. I also dry-brushed the flowers with a bit of gesso.
Thanks for looking!
