Valentine Gift Pocket

Hello and welcome! It is my turn on the CutCardStock Blog! Well, peeps, the Christmas cards are finished and now it's on to making Valentine's Day cards! (Does it feel like the time is whizzing by?!)
For my Valentine project, I created a Valentine gift pocket from a Basis Red A7 Envelope and some printed paper. It is always fun to give small gifts for Valentine's Day, and this sweet pocket is perfect for a gift card, a candy bar, or some "love" coupons!
Seal the flap of the envelope, and place it face up in a portrait orientation. Trim the top off the envelope so that the envelope measures 7" tall x 5 1/4" wide.
Make sure the new opening you cut is positioned at the top of your project. This is now your gift pocket.

Cut printed ledger paper (American Crafts Crimson 6x6 pad) to 6" x 5 1/8" and attach the paper to the bottom section of the envelope.

Trim Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock to 2 1/2" x 6". Punch one long edge with a lace border punch. Trim the punched strip to 2" x 5 1/8" and place it at the top of the envelope, overlapping the ledger paper.

Trim script paper, from the Crimson pad, to 1 1/2" x 4 7/8" and attach it to the punched strip.
Place a circle die (1 3/4") into the pocket, face up. Center the die and run the envelope through your die cut machine.
You now have a notch cut out of the envelope pocket.
Trim the ledger paper to 2" x 5 1/8" and slip the paper into the pocket opening.
Trim text paper to 6 7/8" x 5 1/8" and attach it to the back of the envelope. (The text paper is Authentique Adore, which is retired. You can use any text paper, even vintage dictionaries, if you wish.)
Use red ink to stamp a sentiment in the lower right corner of the pocket. (The little stamp is from the Michael's $1 bin!)
Cover a 5" shipping tag with paper from the Crimson pad.
Lightly mist red seam binding with water and scrunch it. Allow the seam binding to dry.
Tie a loopy bow from the red seam binding and glue it to the top of the tag. Attach the tag to the pocket with foam adhesive.
Trim a vintage image into a tag shape and attach it to the shipping tag as shown. Fussy cut a ticket image and attach to the right side of the pocket. (Image and ticket are from Authentique Crush and Smitten, respectively.)

Glue a tiny, red clothes pin to a chalkboard covered wood heart. Glue the heart to the tag. Use a white gel pen to write on the chalkboard heart.
Place a gift into your pocket, and give it to your favorite Valentine!

Thanks for looking!
