Midnight Masquerade Box and Tags

I am dazzled by the fantastic jewel tones of the NEW Graphic 45 Midnight Masquerade Collection! Some of my favorite colors in the world are deep, dark shades of blue, purple, yellow, and orange. I almost did not want to cut into this collection because I wanted to save every tiny bit of it!
G45 asked me to make something for the Creativation show in January, and I ended up making an altered ATC Book Box stuffed with tags! This sweet box, contains seven (7) tags. Just looking at it is like a feast for the eyes. The box sits on four metal claw feet. The G45 claw feet are perfectly made for this paper collection.
Six tags fit into the box. There are three regular-sized tags and three ATC-sized tags.
A square tag fits into the extra pocket that I created on the back of the box. A chunky clothespin is ready to clasp notes, photos, or more tags.
Once you use all the tags, you can use the empty box to hold your treasures, office supplies, or embellishments. I added just a bit of decor to the box with two art deco photo corners (from GSLCuts).
The pocket that I constructed for the back of the box is large enough to hold sticky note pads and pens.
The tags are suitable to tie onto packages or for gift bag decor. You could even add them to a mini album. Each tag is a masterpiece, filled with color and texture!
I created one square tag to fit into the pocket on the back of the box. I fussy cut some of the images and added them to the front of the tag. This collection just begs to be fussy cut!
I added a fleur de lis brad to a shabby chic key hole for the right side of the tag. The white, die cut doily sets the stage for all of the marvelous colors.
I covered the back of the tag with paper and another fussy cut image.
I used three regular-sized tags to tuck into the altered box. I cut 1/2" off the bottom of the second tag and 1" off the bottom of the third. I wanted the tags to be various heights as they sat in the box. I rounded the corners to match the regular-sized tag.
This tag makes me think of Mardi Gras, music, and dancing. The pops of teal, orange and purple against the white doily make me happy!
The Cheery Lynn French Pastry Doily die cut template is one of my favorites. I can cut doilies out of any paper or cardstock to match my projects.

I tucked some twine under a nosegay of flowers to make a lovely tag.
The second tag is 1/2" shorter than the first tag. I used some of the cut apart elements from the paper, as well as some fussy cut images to decorate the tag. You can see a bit of doily peeking out on the left. I created a scrunchy bow from yellow seam binding.
I added a flattened bottle cap and some twine to another tiny bouquet of flowers.
To create the next tag, I cut 1" off the bottom of a regular tag and rounded the corners. I fussy cut an image and a partial frame to decorate the tag.
I found some matching flowers in my stash and added them. It looks as if the Harlequin is holding a giant bouquet!
I added paper to the back of each tag.
The ATC Book Box comes with three ATC tags. I decorated those three tags to coordinate with the box.
The first ATC tag is a fussy cut mask and flowers inside a partial frame. I die cut some feathers and added them to the mask. The rolled sentiment at the bottom gives another layer of interest.
The second ATC tag is all about the bow! I found the perfect color in my stash - it's called noble peacock - to match the papers. I dampened the seam binding and scrunched it in my hand to make a crumpled mess. Once it was dry, the seam binding made the most gorgeous bow! I added an image cut from the paper and some die cut feathers.
The third ATC tag is simple, but pretty. The images in the paper are so interesting that there is not much need to "gild the lily."
I added paper to the back of each tag to finish them off.
I used up almost every scrap of this paper! I cannot wait until it starts to ship and I can get my hands on the full collections!

Thanks for looking!
