Here is a peeky at the RRR May Ribbon Club Assortment
Every year, Really Reasonable Ribbon releases a Patriotic Assortment. It is always one of my favorite assortments of the year, and I am always so pleased with the wide variety of ribbons in each kit! This year we have our Patriotic Assortment in May! It is a wonderful collection of printed and solid ribbons, perfect for graduation cards, Memorial Day cards, and 4th of July projects!
As always, I went with a 4th of July project! I looked through all my 4th of July stamps, but I could not find anything I wanted to use. I only have a few stamps, and I was feeling like I had used them all so many times! As I was rooting around in one of my bins, I came across this cake stamp, which is NOT part of a 4th of July set! (The stamp set is from Power Poppy, Tea in the Garden.) But I thought...hmmm, what if I make a red, white, and blue cake?!
I mean, everyone loves Independence day treats, right?! I colored the image with Copic markers, and then added a sentiment stamp, which is actually part of a picnic basket stamp set (Papertrey Ink, Vintage Picnic). What's not to love about blueberry cake, vanilla frosting, and strawberries?!
I recently purchased a pad of embossed cardstock, and one of the prints in the set was 4th of July themed! I simply rubbed some brown ink over the raised text on the cardstock, and used it as my background paper. A small piece of red and white dotted paper, plus a strip of the Quatrefoil Print on Electric Blue Satin Ribbon completes the "stage."

I added another strip of ribbon, this time in the Poppy Red Satin ribbon. I tied a nice, loopy bow out of the same red ribbon, then topped it with a bingo tile. To finish off the card, I used some decorative pins and a few enamel dots. (I did not have a blue pin, so I used a Copic marker to color a white pin to the correct shade of blue!)

I am entering my card into the Red White Blue Challenge at Double "D" Challenges. (Top 3 Winner)

Thanks for stopping by today! Now, hop over to  Ginny's Blog to see what she has for you!
