I colored Flowers on the Beach, which is an adorable mermaid image from Conie Fong. If you enjoy coloring mermaids (and other girls with lovely hair), there are several different images in the shop! I chose this sweet and chubby mermaid!
I loaded on the bling: sequins, enamel dots, glass pins, and shimmery ribbon! I was going to use something to make her tail shimmer, but in past experience, the camera does not pick up the shimmer and I was afraid of wrecking all my coloring! So, I just used markers and added the bling elsewhere!
I printed the image onto white cardstock at approximately 4 1/2" square. I added a sentiment (Power Poppy Juicy Strawberries) directly to the image before printing. I colored the image with Copics, spending most of my time working on her hair! I did not really want to make ombre hair, but rather I wanted to color her hair in sections of blue and brown. I love how chunky it looks!
I dug around in my hoard and found some resin shells to use as accents to the flower cluster. I have no idea when I purchased those, or why I originally "needed" them, but they sure look great on this card! {grin}
I used some dots on little Miss Mermaid's tail and also on the rock where she is sitting. I do not "DO" backgrounds, so this is the best you will get out of me when it comes to that! I added some dotted paper to mimic the look of the coloring.
I hope you had fun looking at my project today. Please play along in the challenge. If you don't have a Conie Fong image, you can download some for free once you join the Facebook Group! Click HERE for that.
