Welcome to the Conie Fong Art and Design August Facebook Challenge! The challenge this month is to use a Conie Fong image and the theme - Use a Die Cut! (As always, the challenges are Anything Goes, but you get an extra point for using the theme!)
For my challenge project this month, I used the delightful Little Blossom (with balloons) image. This sweet image comes three ways: holding balloons, holding a purse, or holding a purse with a cherry blossom background. You can get ALL THREE for $5.75 by clicking HERE.
Since I struggle with deep, dark colors, I decided to give dark blue, black, and dark aqua a whirl this month! I wanted Little Blossom's hair to be dark, with a blue cast, but she sort of came out with ...blue hair! Which, I sort of love!
I wanted to try transparent balloons, but after struggling with the technique for a while, I just could not get it, so the balloons are those thick opaque kind! {smile} I will keep practicing and maybe I will master the technique at some point!
I added lots of yellow to the image and the card, just to give some relief from all the dark colors.
I did use some die cuts: the fancy corner shapes are a die cut and the rectangles are also die cut. I also used some fun ribbon...mostly to cover up a splodge at the top of the card where an overfull marker leaked...AFTER the whole image was colored!
Please play along in the Conie Fong FB challenge. If you don't have a Conie Fong image, you can download one for free once you join the Facebook Group! Click HERE for that.
