Hello, and good-morning my friends! It has been almost three years since I participated in an Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop! I took a little break, which turned into a BIG break, but I am happy to be back with the alumni team again! And speaking of teams, Heartfelt Creations just announced the NEW 2022 Design Team! Read about that HERE.
Welcome to the May 2022 Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop! Each month, on the last Friday of the month, the Heartfelt Creations Alumni Team participates in a Blog Hop! The May Hop starts at 8am EDT on Friday, May 27th. Be sure to visit each blog on the hop, and leave a comment, because a randomly chosen comment from a mystery blog will receive a $25 gift certificate to shop at Heartfelt Creations! The hop closes Monday May 30th at 11:55pm EDT.
To double the fun, Heartfelt Creations will offer a second $25 gift card for a randomly selected comment on their blog post! The winner will be announced on the Heartfelt Creations Blog and Facebook page on Wednesday, June 1st. If you are the happy winner, you can claim your prize by emailing socialmedia@heartfeltcreations.us. Please write “Winner of the May 2022 Alumni Hop in the subject line. You will have 72 hours to claim your prize.
Now, let's get started with the fun! You should be coming to my blog from Alissa's Blog. After visiting me, head on to Lisa's Blog. If you are lost, see the blog link list at the end of this post.
Before I could start my card, I had to sort through my Heartfelt Creations "stash" and see what I had that is still available in the Store! And I confess to a little shopping therapy, too! {smile} I had been watching the announcement for the NEW French Courtyard die and the French Gate die. They are STUNNING! So, I had to have them! I ended up using only the French Gate die set this time.
To create this cute, slimline card, first cut a card base from deep pink cardstock that is 3 1/4" x 6 1/4". Since cardstock is only 12" long, and we need a piece that is 12 1/2" long, we need to cut one piece of cardstock to 3 1/4" x 6 3/4" and score at 1/2" from the short, top edge to make a tab. Then cut a second piece of the pink cardstock to 3 1/4" x 6 1/4" and attached it to the tab, making a card base.
Next use the Right Gate Insert Die (2.75” x 5.75”) from the French Gate die set to cut a piece of Sweet Peony paper. Use the Right Gate Outline Die (3” x 6”) to cut the gate from white cardstock. Use Designer Dries Clear Adhesive to attach the printed panel to the back of the gate panel. Then attach both to the card front.

Use the A Gift for You Ornamental Tag 2 die from the Ornamental Tags die set to cut the tag out of deep pink cardstock use the A Gift for You Ornamental Tag 3 die to cut the sentiment portion from white cardstock. Glue the pieces together and then use Adhesive Foam Strips to attach the piece to the center of the card front, as shown above.
Let's make the flowers next! Use the Classic Rose Stamp set to stamp two sets of roses onto the Sweet Peony paper. I chose one of the dark pink sheets for my roses, and stamped them with Ranger Archival Vermilion ink. Then stamp the leaves from the Classic rose set onto a sheet of the green Sweet Peony paper. Use a combination of Ranger Archival Vivid Chartreuse and Library Green.

Once all the flowers and leaves are stamped, use the Classic Rose die set to cut them out. Use some coordinating ink to add some extra shading to some of the pieces. I used Ranger Distress Festive Berries ink on the flowers.
Place the die cut shapes face down into the 3D Rose Shaping Mold and spay them lightly with water. Run the mold through your die cutting machine. Allow the flowers to dry before removing them from the mold. I like to take the "lid" of the mold and allow the paper to air dry for a few minutes.
Pro Tip: Spray the front of the flower and leaf shapes lightly with shimmer mist before placing them into the mold. This will act as shimmer and water when using the molds. Make sure to wipe out your mold before storing it away.
Now, you can shape your flowers! I use the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit to shape all my flowers. If you are new to flower creation, view the FREE videos on the Heartfelt Creations Blog for help.
Once you have created your flowers, attach one large bloom and a few leaves to the bottom left of the gate element. Attach another large bloom and one small bloom, with leaves to the upper right gate element, as shown in the photo above.
Pro Tip: Cut the leaves apart with sharp scissors to create different looks for your flower clusters.
For the last step, cut two pieces of white cardstock to 3 1/8" x 6 1/8" to line the inside of the card. Stamp or write your message. This card will fit into an envelope approximately A6 in size (4 1/2" x 6 1/2").
