I decided to create a little notepad holder for you today. This sweet, little book is 6" x 4" x 1/2" and contains two pockets and a handmade notebook!
For my project this month, I dug through my Heartfelt Creations paper pads and came up with the Vintage Floret Collection, unopened, never used! {Gasp! How does THAT happen!??} I fell in love with the chocolate brown and dusty pink colors in this collection!
I created a darling notepad holder, that is also suitable for storing 6" x 4" photos!
I did not actually have a notepad that was 6" x 4"...so I made one to tuck into the right-hand pocket! I think this is the perfect notepad for jotting down prayer requests and such!
I started out by cutting brown cardstock to 6" x 12" and scoring at 3", 3 1/2", 7 1/2" and 8" to create the double-spine holder. I used the Swirling Die from the Border Essentials Die Set to create an pretty edge for the cover.
I covered the outside surfaces with the Vintage Floret paper, sponged with Walnut Stain ink.
I made a flower with some of the paper scraps and the Arianna Blooms stamp and die. I use the Open Leaf stamp and Classic Leaf Die to make the leaf cluster.
I stamped the sentiment from the Everyday Hero Newsprint set and cut it out with the arrow banner from the Everyday Heroes Die.
I have small magnets hidden inside the covers to keep them closed. The inside flap is blank, but you could add a photo or favorite scripture.
Inside, I created one center pocket for photos or journlaing blocks. I used the border die again to make a "fancy" pocket topper. I also created a large pocket on the right side. The right-hand pocket holds a notebook filled with blank paper for writing or sketching.
I created the notebook from cardstock, cut to 5 3/4" x 7 1/2" and scored at 3 3/4". I cut the paper slightly smaller for the inside pages. I stacked the cover and pages together and marked at 2" and 4" from the top edge. I used a paper piercing tool to create holes through all layers and attached everything to the cover with a bit of string. I also added a latch with magnets to keep the notebook closed.
