365 Cards - Cutting Cafe Week - Grapes

As I told you yesterday, The Cutting Cafe is the sponsor for 365 Cards this week. The DT got a set of fruit images to play with, and the challenge for today is to use the image of grapes, plus 5 circles on your card, with the predominate color being purple. I have the feeling that Pam can look into my head and see what will stretch me out of my comfort zone! First...hand coloring...2nd using PURPLE! She's sneaky that girl.

This was hard. I colored the image several times before I was even half-way happy. I used EK Success water color pencils and a mostly dried up SU blending pen! (Gotta call my SU rep and get more of those darn pens!!!) Then I found some purple paper. I have no clue where I got the striped paper. It's pretty old. (Because I never use purple.) But I liked it here since it also had lots of green and some blue with it.

I pulled out my Fiskars border punch to give some interest to the card. But I sure was stumped on how to get 5 circles in there!

In the end, I used 5 buttons. Lucky for me I am the button hoarding queen and found 5 in all the same shade of purple! And the color matched the paper! I tied some floss to them for some extra texture.

My biggest fear was that the image would look crooked! (Always a danger when you use striped paper.) If it's crooked, my friend Jacquie will give me the business big time since she knows my pet peeve is layouts and cards getting published when they are CROOKED! LOL

Now, show me what you can do on this challenge. Don't forget to use Mr. Linky at the 365 Cards site so I can peek at what you do. Remember, I send Pam my top 3 favs for the challenge and then she votes out of the whole weeks' challenges to pick the Top Trio. Impress me ladies. I know you can rock this challenge!
