365 Cards - Mother's Day Monday

Today's challenge for 365 Cards is to make a Mother's Day card, which is very timely since Mother's Day is Sunday! My mother and my mother-in-law are both "still with us." My mom is 79 and MIL is 69. And both are in good health, praise God. My mom lives in PA and MIL in CT, so I don't get to see them very often. I try to keep in touch, but admit that I could do a better job. My mother LOVES handmade cards, but my MIL does NOT NOT NOT. But they will both get a card made by me this year! MIL will just have to deal.

This one will probably go to MIL, since my mom does not really care for pink. Although MIL does not care for hand crafted items, she DOES appreciate the work that goes into them.

I used some BEAUTIFUL Close to My Heart papers for this card. I love these papers and have been hoarding them for a long time. I even purchased two sets so that I'd have more to love! (I know. It's a sickness. I don't want a cure!)

I embossed the light brown paper with a Cuttlebug EF and then sanded the top. It came out soooo nice! I stamped the greeting (Inkadinkado) onto the lt. brown, then cut and embossed ovals with Spellbinders Nesties. The pearls on the Prima flowers are from Kaiser Kraft. I love those half pears. I found that CropStop carries them for a nice price, so purchased a bunch!

I can't wait to see what you make for your mom (aunt, sister, grandma, BF, etc.).

PS - I used a sketch I found online for this. I think it was from 2Sketches4You, but am not positive.
