365 Cards - Color Challenge

The Cosmo Cricket paper pack that is being showcased today at 365 Cards is Mr. Campy. I don't have any of this paper line - because, well, I hate camping! Anyway, not having the paper just made this a bigger challenge for me - bigger, not impossible! Now, the challenge is to make a feminine card using green, yellow, orange, brown, and aqua. That's 5 colors folks! So I used the Girl Friday paper to make this card.

This card is for 3 challenges:

365 Cards - Color Challenge green, yellow, orange, brown, aqua
Pile it On - Use 2 different ribbons (yeah, they are small, but they are on there!)
Rosie and Dee's - Challenge #39, Color Challenge turquoise and chocolate (the card base is chocolate brown)

The sentiment is one of the cardstock "cut outs" from the Girl Friday pack. I just used scissors to cut it out of the paper.

I used Stampin' Up flower punches to make the little flower accent. It has a brown mini brad in the center.

And because I am a big over-achiever, I made a second card using the Cosmo Cricket Souvenir line. This is an older line and I've had it a long time. I have only used a few bits of it.

I used a dark orange Bazzill for the card, and some aqua sheer ribbon and some rhinestone flowers as accents.

I used my Spellbinders dies to cut the scallop circles for the flower. This is my favorite technique right now. The stamp is another old foam stamp.

This was my hardest card for the week. I always freak out on color challenges. Tune in tomorrow for another challenge!

  3. Actually that's brown not purple. It's the light that makes it look purple-ish. I hate when that happens. LOL But I admit, that brown is on the maroon-y side...

I did make the 2nd card first, as those are more my color choices too. LOL
