Mid-week Reveal

I know I said I'd not have any new cards for you this week. What I meant to say was that I was not sure I could participate in any extra 365 Cards challenges this week. The cards for today have been sitting in my basket waiting for their reveal day - so while they ARE new, they were due weeks ago. But, I can reveal them today! woot woot.

This first card is my July My Sketch World DT card. To see Lucy's sketch, check the blog.

I love this long size, so this was a fun sketch to work on. I decided to go with a 4th of July theme. I have a bunch of old Karen Foster, K&Company, and Daisy D's stuff with a patriotic theme, so dug into that. My dad and all four of my brothers served in our military, so I have a lot of stuff stashed away so that I can work on some of their military photos. But, I sacrificed some for this card. :o)

These stickers are very textured with real stitching, and lots of layers.

I pulled some of the elements apart and used them differently. Always breaking the rules! Which may be why I did not follow my dad and brothers into the military!

I am also hosting a card challenge for July on the MSW message board. I know the cards will look familiar if you are a regular on this blog...but it's a fun challenge just the same. There is no prize, but if you load your stuff into the MSW gallery, I am also in charge of Gallery Pick of the Day for part of July (wink wink).

The other cards are for CropStop. This first one is a card I made to go with a Review I wrote for Embossing Folders.

I embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, then sanded the paper to reveal the white paper core. This is a new folder (new to me I mean), the Baby A2 folder. Very cute.

I also used one of the small stitched circle folders to emboss around the stamped sentiment (Stampin' Up). Then I cut around it with Spellbinders Nesties. See my tiny pin? Super cute, right?!

This last card was part of a Follow the Leader Challenge at CropStop. If you want to play in a fun challenge, check these out! You will get to look at ONE card, and then you make a card based on how you are inspired. When everyone's card is finished we get to see the progression from Card #1 to the end. Sometimes the results are a hoot!

My card ended up not looking a thing like the original card in the challenge! I did have an embossed background and a sentiment inside a scallop oval, but my style of card is 180 degrees different!

The EF I used is a new Sizzix one, and the funny sentiment is from a Stampin' Up set. All the other junk came from my bin of Sky Blue Pink items. Except for the ticket. I cut that with my Sizzix and stamped with a SU stamp.

Thanks for looking today! I am going to try to play catch up at 365 Cards, but it depends on some other projects which are on my desk! If not, I'll be back with a card for them on Sunday.
