365 Cards Catch-up Saturday

I have two cards to show you so I can catch-up with this week's challenges at 365 Cards. I cannot believe I've played along all week again! I know that starting in January I'll probably NOT be able to play every day, but for now, I'm still limping along! Pam does not require the DT to play every day, but I like to "curry her favor" for the days when I cheat...I mean...think outside the box!

Here is the card for Day 293 - Color Scheme. The color scheme was dark blue, pale blue, pale green, lavender, and white. It's such a pretty combo. This is what I came up with. This card is also for the Our Creative Corner challenge - snow theme.

These papers totally do not "match" but I think I made them "go." I used printed paper from DCWV, Creative Imaginations, and maybe Provo Craft is the other one. The cardstock is Bazzill and Close to My Heart (green). The snowman image is Stampin' Up. I masked him, then stamped some snowflakes all around. I used SU markers to color the snowman. The greeting is from Studio G.

Those yummy pearls are Recollections. I found a bunch of those on the sale rack at Michael's the other day. So I got some of every color. (Naturally!) The dotted ribbon is from Michael's too. That's been in my stash for dog's years.

This next card is for 365 Cards Day 294 - Imagine This - Fire. We are to let "fire" inspire us. Hmmmm...well.... I had colored this Simple Doodles image a few days ago, so knew I wanted to use it for today's challenge.

Again, I mixed it up with the papers - DCWV, Doodlebug, and the stripes I have no idea who makes those. The sentiment is part of a SU stamp. I just stamped the words because I thought they were hilarious with this image! My 18yo son thought so too. He said, "Good one, Mom! That's FUNNY!"

I put some Stickles on Santa's hat. And, Rose, notice the stockings????

I also wanted to show you the bag toppers I made for the goodie bags I'm handing out in the neighborhood. Every year when I lived in NC I used to make something to pass out to my neighbors. I also did it the two Christmases we were in PA, but when I did it here in CA I had some very hostile and negative reactions from people! So I stopped doing it. However, last year the Lord put it on my heart to try again, and my "offering" was very well received! So, I am doing it again this year.

I made the toppers and dh helped me stuff the bags...'cause he did not want me giving my germs to anyone! I think they turned out very festive! Each bag has: mini bags of coffee; dark, milk, and white chocolate-covered pretzels; mini fancy chocolates; and peppermint bark. Each of our 14 neighbors will get a bag, plus each of the folks who teach our kids at church (Sunday School, Youth Ministry, Band) will get a bag. Every year I try to think of something fun to make. Dh said this was his favorite item so far. High praise! I am also entering this treat bag for the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. They are asking for...well...treat bags!

See you tomorrow for my 365 Cards Sketchy Sunday post!

  1. It looks as if you're feeling a little better, arn't you?
I laughed so loudly when I read your comments on my blog, that I was afraid my kids will wake up...

Your color combo card is so delicate! I think that you've made them "go" perfectly. and the card reminded me of a big warm blanket and beautiful cover (I really should be gone to sleep already, only I'm trying to catch up with the challenges...).

the pearls are great. I just used some and I love them but I hate adhere them with this wet glue... yachkkkk

and your fire inspired card is so warm! makes me want to seat by the fireside...

BTW, for both cards - there some challenges you can go for with your cards (anything but christmas, free theme, etc - if you wish you can look at my blog, there are so much there LOL), and for the fire card - there is a challenge of "pick 3" (stamping vacation), and I think the card just fits there...

As for your gifts bag (well, there're some challenges for that too... LOL, try "crazy4challenges") - we can make a deal - you'll come to our next vacation and in exchange you'll give me some choclates... my young kid will adore you... LOL

My next card, for the ad inspiration, is especially for you, so consider yourself as if I've send it to you...

I hope you'll feel much better tomorrow (going to the church this time?). You don't want to lay in bed on Christmas...

hugs (but no kisses this time. keep your germs to yourself... LOL)
