Sketches and Digis

I know I am late getting to the blog today. I was so busy the past few days making a swap for my LSS club (and I forgot to take a photo of the project!) and working on a mini album using the club kit (you will get to see that project on the 25th...those gals got a sneak peek!) that I did not make any cards. So during lunch break and after school today I cranked out a few for you.

First up, I posted the CPC Sketch Tuesday yesterday, but forgot to make a sample! Well, today you have TWO samples to look at! Here is the sketch again:

Here is my first sample. I made a 5x5 card using the Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses 6x5 paper pad. The stamp is a digital stamp from Simple Doodles. This is a free stamp that Trish gave out when the blog hit 30 followers. I am on the GDT for December, and have been playing with the images for the past few weeks. Super cute!

I gave him a bit of color with pencils and markers, and then used some Picket Fence Stickles on his hat. Instead of a butterfly, I used some snow flake punches topped with pearls.

I was on a roll with my coloring, so used one of the Simple Doodles new releases (coming out Dec. 10th) for a second card using this sketch. This card follows the sketch a bit more loosely (I also had the new sketch shown below on my desk, so this card is sort of a mix of the two!). I colored the image with pencils and paper pieced the heart with the BG paper. (See, Rose! I can do it a little bit!) Instead of a butterfly, I put some 3-D hearts on the edge of the circle. And instead of buttons I placed the sentiment in that corner.

Now, on to the 365 Cards Day 284 challenge. Today we were supposed to create our own sketch and then make a card from it. Here is my sketch:

And here is my card:

I had the Basic Grey paper on my desk, so just kept right on using it! The image for this card is from Stamps and Smiles. It was a free digi given out this week for their new product release and blog hop. How adorable is this little girl? My daughter said she looks like Cindy Lou Who. I colored her with markers and pencils. The sentiment is something I made on the computer.

This card is also for these challenges:
Stampin' Sisters in Christ - card that shows someone you are praying for them, and must use an image of people (the inside of this card says: You are in my thoughts and prayers).
All Sorts #30 - use purple.

That's it! Sorry about the lighting for the photos, it was getting dark fast and I just snapped them quick!
