CropStop Challenge #15

You lucky bugs get to see my Friday CropSop embossing project EARLY this week! Why? You want to know why? Well, I'll tell you! Because I am also the weekly challenge hostess for this next week!

Your challenge for this week is to create a hand-made grunge flower...bonus high-fives if you also use grungeboard or grungepaper! Now, grunge can be what you make it! Grunge it up. Add ink. Add distressing!

Create your flower and upload it into the Cropstop Gallery by April 22th for an opportunity to win in the prize draw at the end of June!

Here is my card, combining the Grunge It challenge and my Friday embossing project:

I've used the Cuttlebug Mandarin Screen folder (from the Asian Set) for my background. I love how this looks on black cardstock! The greeting stamp is from My Favorite Things.

I made this flower by adhering a page from an old book to some grungboard (I used the Xyron to glue the layers together). Then, I ran the grungeboard through the Sizzix to die cut the flowers - using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die. After I cut the flowers, I inked them with Ranger distress ink (Fired Brick and Old Paper), then bent the petals to create more dimension. I cut another flower from a scrap of Graphic45 paper, and cut the small flower from a scrap of metal. I added cranberry alcohol ink to the small flower. Then, I stacked the flowers and attached them together with an antique-looking brad.

Yummy, right?! I am so loving this new Tim Holtz flower die! I love that it can cut such thick layers!
