Punky Sprouts and Graphic45

You may want to grab a cup of coffee and put your feet up because this is a long post! Lots of photos!

As part of the Graphic45 Design Team, I also get to work with other fabbie products from our "partners." In my first DT box from G45 I received a Punky Sprouts mini album. It's been sitting in my box for months! I finally had some inspiration and made something with it! It's featured on the Graphic45 Blog today! The name of the album I got to play with is Rebel Sprout. I know! Do they already know me or what?!

The inspiration behind this album was an old book of pen and ink drawings that my friend gave me when I moved to California. I saved it, knowing that someday I wanted to make something from these amazing drawings by Earl Thollander. I have no clue if Mr. Thollander is still alive, but I have to say I love his artwork! I cut the book apart and used some of my favorites.

I used lots of bits and pieces of Graphic45 paper (Steampunk Debutante, A Proper Gentleman, Domestic Goddess, Transatlantic, Communique, Botanicabella, Times Nouveau).

I really like these metal charms from Tim Holtz. A friend sent them to me...Rose I think? I forget. I got about 4 packages in one day and forget who sent what!

The chipboard monogram is from Basic Grey. All the metal bits are from Tim Holtz.

The Punky Sprouts album has 6 pages of various sizes - 2 clear, 2 canvas, 2 chipboard.

Here is a shot of the inside cover. I clipped some phrases from the intro of the Back Roads book, plus cut out some G45 elements.

This tractor is one of my favorite images. I decorated with G45 papers, flowers, and buttons. The canvas journaling strip is All My Memories. That set has been in my stash for AGES.

Here is a drawing of an old post office. Perfect for using some of the various G45 mini postage stamp images.

This log pile drawing and the story with it cracked me up. I had to use it! I think Mr. Thollander must have an amazing sense of humor!

I was also able to incorporate some Tattered Angels chipboard pieces. They are also one of the G45 DT sponsors!

I just rubbed the chipboard with some Ranger Distress inks to bring out the detail.

I've never worked with canvas pages before and really did not do them justice. I hope to have another chance to get creative with them. I have some ideas now that I think I could use... So many projects, so little time!

I used G45 paper to make a rose. I love making these! I ripped off fellow DT member Jade and put a mini rose inside my paper rose. Love the look. I had to use Copics to color the mini rose to match.

I love using Tim Holtz metals. Here is a close-up of one of his pins.

Another sketch:

For this page I "fussy cut" a car from G45 paper.

And the back cover:

Hope you enjoyed this vintage journey through California!
