I've got a little Christmas card for you today. It's never too early to get started making your cards for the holidays! 365 Cards has a fabbie new sponsor this week - Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. I received 3 fantastic images to play with, and decided to use this Santa postage image. The challenge from Pam is to use a blanket stitch on your card. Last week I messed up and used a whip stitch, so she had to hit the reset button! I managed to do the correct stitch this time! It's a bit wonky, but I did it!
I created a frame around my stamped image by stitching around the mat with DMC floss. The stitch is not that hard, but it took some doing to go all the way around the image. I have a few spots were it did not line up very well, but let's just say it adds to the vintage character of the card, shall we?!
The paper is a very pretty Basic Grey called Jovial from a 6x6 pad that came in the mail the other day. It's so fun to get a nice box of 6x6 papers from Scrapbook.com! I love those days!
For inspiration I used sketch TESC131 from Taylored Expressions. And speaking of sketches, starting October 19th, I'll be creating sketches for Christian Paper Crafts once again. So keep your eye peeled here for a new card sketch every Tuesday!
so that is a blanket stitch! (looks sorta like the one on last weeks card! lol)
