CropStop Challenge #4

Happy Thursday! Time for the CropStop Challenge. Vicki is our challenge hostess this week, and she's challenged us to use at least two embossing folders on our project. Well, that's easy enough when you are like me and have a zillion folders!

I used three folders on my card. I used Sizzix Diamond which is part of the Diamond & Snowcap set and matches the Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses papers. For the small dot strip, I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots. And, last, but not least, I used the Tim Holtz Texture Fades Retro Circles folder, which is part of the Rays and Retro Circles set. Oh, and for the Sizzix and Cuttlebug folders, I debossed them. Meaning I used the "wrong side" of the embossing because I liked the look of the debossing with the printed paper.

When you emboss printed paper, it just steps it up a notch. For my sample, I used October Afternoon Modern Homemaker paper, from the 8x8 pad. I love me some paper pads! The image on the front of the card is October Afternoon wild cards from the Modern Homemaker set. These are super cool-io vintage items.

My little greeting is an old Stampin' Up stamp, stamped with Memento ink and cut out with Spellbinders Nesties. I also used a Fiskars border punch on the edge of the cardstock. I love my border punches! And that little bit of twine I used is from May Arts. They have some of the BEST trims.

I also decorated the inside of the card with more paper. I think this card weighs about 1 pound! But it turned out so vintage-y. I love it. I hope I can part with it when the time comes to mail it off to someone!

I am entering my card into these challenges:

Simon Says Stamp and Show - Childhood Memory (this reminds me of my mom's sewing patterns and of the Dick and Jane books from grade school)
Stampin' Sisters in Christ - Vintage
365 Cards - Lovely Layers
