Imaginarium Designs Cards

I am so late getting this post up. Sometimes I don't keep it together very well! First I forgot that February 10th in Australia is like 19 hours earlier than in southern California! Then we got some sad news late yesterday afternoon that a friend had passed away, and the funeral was this morning! I remembered about my post on the way to church! Then, somehow Blogger ate the whole thing and I had to start over!!! But, it is still February 10th here....

Here is my very first post as part of the new 2012 Imaginarium Designs Team!

I love their chipboard shapes. The chipboard is like nothing you can find in the states. It takes ink and paint and other wet stuff so well.

I stamped the image and colored the lady with Copics and cut her into an oval shape with Spellbinders oval die templates. To create the frame, I sprayed  the Imaginarium Designs Mirrored Bracket on Oval Frame with Wineberry Smooch Spritz. Once the frame was dry, I sprayed it again with just a bit of Vanilla Shimmer mist to give it a spotted and aged look. Once the frame was all dry, I added the image.

I sprayed the feather with Splash and Green Olive Smooch Spritz. The combination of colors created this teal, two-tone look! I misted it at the end with Vanilla Shimmer.

I was a little worried because all the ladies on this team are AMAZINGLY creative and talented! My style is to use a boatload of printed paper....how to do that and have the chipboard shapes stand out?! It seems easier with page layouts, but I wanted to do cards. I think it went ok, but, boy, I have to stay on my toes! {giggle}

Here is card #2. When I started this card I remembered some paint I had purchased...must be 10 or 12 years ago! I knew I still had it and wondered if it was still paint, or a jar of rock...

The Lumiere paint was still paint! That's some good stuff! I painted the butterfly with Jacquard: Lumiere Olive Green metallic paint. I painted the birdcage with bronze metallic paint, then dry brushed it with the olive green. It has a great patina!

I sprayed the steampunk clock and the clock face with Smooch Spritz.

It is hard to see all the shimmer in the photos, but his card really has a lot of shimmer and depth.

It is one of those cards that needs a special envelope in order to mail it!

I hope you enjoyed my first post with Imaginarium Designs! I'll be back next month with more pretties!

  6. Gorgeous cards Gloria! No need to be nervous...I just ran across my Lumiere paints last week too...cannot believe they are still liquid after all these years! Good luck in the new year! (btw - I tried to make a Gloria style card - yes, you are now one of those famous designers with a style all your own - I am taking a new class from May Flaum and used your style for my first class).
