I have been a mess of nerves since yesterday afternoon waiting for the Graphic 45 Design Team Announcement! I knew I would not sleep last night and stayed up until 1am watching Netflix! Then, I fell asleep and woke up promptly at...5:15!? Reallyl? I dozed off and on and finally got up at 7:15 with a "hangover headache" from all that TV!
Well....here it is!

Visit the Graphic 45 Blog for all the details. To say I am both blown away and honored is an understatement! I never dreamed that I'd have THREE years with this AMAZING paper company! I am over the moon! That was NOT an earthquake in southern California....that was ME, jumping up and down!
Graphic 45 has more cards for Day 5 of Cards Week! A beauty from my teamie Tara, and one more from me. (I am the card queen, after all).
You all know by now that I love to make gift card holders. A gate fold card with an inside pocket makes a quick and easy gift card holder. Creating a simple band to hold the card closed makes this simple project extra special.
When you slide off the band and open the "doors" you see the surprise inside! (I confess that I stole this idea from my friend Cheryl. She makes amazing gate-fold cards. Mine is "sissy" compared to hers! )
Trim black cardstock to 5 x 10 inches. Score at 2 1/2 inches from each end. (Drawing not to scale)
Using a piece of cardstock 2 x 5 inches, create a pocket for the inside of the card. Add adhesive to the sides and bottom of the pocket. (Note: I covered the inside surface BEFORE adding my pocket.)
Cover all surfaces with patterned paper.
To create the closure band, trim black cardstock to 2 x
12 inches. Score at 4 7/8 and 10 inches.
Cover your band with patterned paper, and glue together.
Make sure you don't glue it too tight or it won't slip off your card. You may
need to adjust your band size, depending on how thick your finished card
becomes.
Decorate your band as desired. I added a chipboard bike
and a sentiment to my band. It's a simple project, but packs big impact,
especially when you slip a gift card inside!
I also decorated the back of my card. It looks more finished
that way.
Ok, now to decompress! What a day! Woooohoooo!
