Snapshots Mini - Graphic 45

Well, Blogger Peeps, I am back from my retreat! I had a blast with my crafting friends, made a few projects, ate a lot of great food, and exhausted myself packing and unpacking! My friends are amazing women, who are also very, very talented! Being surrounded by all of that talent all weekend was such a blessing!

Before I share my project for today, I want to say thank you to everyone who sent congratulations regarding my being selected as one of the 30 Graphic 45 Design Team Finalists! I appreciate all of you who read, comment, and support my design efforts! It means the world to me when I read your kind comments! I am hard at work making my Round 2 projects! I cannot wait to share them with all of you!

While you wait, here is a mini album that I made for Graphic 45 Summer 2011 CHA. I used on of the Back Policy Envelope Staples and the Magic of Oz collection.

I created a little book to hold snapshots (or "snaps"). I love to make mini albums more than I like to scrapbook in 12x12. There is something so satisfying about a mini. I can add all sorts of lumpy things and ribbons...if only I got around to actually adding the photos and journaling! {grin}

The Policy Album has six pages, which is a perfect size for a small project.

Page 1: I made an embellishment with a Graphic 45 Flower Staples and a bingo number. I've added black photo mats to show where each photo can be placed. I do this for samples so that folks can picture their own photos in the album, rather than get hung up on the photos I chose for the project. This also is handy if I want to sell my project! {giggle}

Page 2: I "aged" the Metal Tag Staples with Staz-on Ink. I used a lot of the Magic of Oz chipboard elements for this album.

Page 6: I created a pocket to hold journaling tags. The postage paper made a great pocket!

Page 7: I used the chipboard tickets to accent this page. I only glue the ends, making it easy to slide a photo behind the chipboard elements.

Page 8: I used a tiny bit of the Tim Holtz tissue tape. The tape lifts off pretty easily, so a photo can slide under it, but this is a design element that you would normally want to add AFTER you place your photo on the page.

Page 9: Here I used a small Metal Tag Staples on the flap. Each flap is open, enabling you to slide more photos or journaling into each envelope.

Page 10: More chipboard...gotta love that stuff!

Back cover.

  3. Great mini! I never quite know what to do with a mini-book, but this has given me some ideas, not using Wizard of Oz, but some other G45 papers and some of my grandparents old sepia photos. They are smaller than today's pics and would look great in this format. Thank you for sharing your inspiration!
