Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #56

Welcome to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge for today! The new challenge is to make a project using fall colors, plus ribbon.

For me, fall colors are the colors of my childhood autumn days: gold, red, orange, yellow, brown. I miss the maple trees turning all those vibrant shades! I miss the scent of leaves in the air, the warm sunny days, and the crisp, cool evenings. Living here on the southern California coast, fall means our hottest weather, endless sun, the bluest of blue skies (unless we have wildfires...then it's smokey and ashy!). It is "high summer" here rather than "fall" and after 7 years, I still cannot adjust!

I make myself feel better by making fall-themed projects and home decor! For today's RRR Challenge, I made a card, with all the requisite fall colors!

I love how this project turned out. I have it propped up on my desk so that I can look at it all day long! The green in the paper really makes the golds and browns POP!

I stamped the image and colored it with Copics. (You can see a few "dead spots" in my coloring - proof that my reading glasses are no longer working! I have an appointment at the end of the month to get new glasses!)

I created a double bow with two colors of diamond satin: yellow gold and old gold. I added a corduroy button and some hemp cord. My teamie, Cherry, explained how she makes these double bows, and I tried it. Turned out super!

I used turftan brown diamond satin to create the pleats at the bottom of the card.

  3. Beautiful fall card. The layout is so, so nice. And the ribbon ~ gorgeous! I understand what you mean about fall colors. I am actually posting this comment from 38,000 ft in the high. I'm on my way back to Phoenix from Washington DC/northern Virginia. We saw the reds, oranges, and yellows start to show their lovely faces in the leaves. I think you need a trip to Julian for some apples : ) Thank you for sharing your lovely card with us.
