Here is my project. I love decorating notepads to give as gifts. You can make covers for any size pad. This is an affordable gift, perfect for anyone on your list.
I purchased a pack of 5x8 inches notepads at the local office supply store, then created a cover for it out of cardstock. I cut my cardstock to 8 1/8 x 10 1/4 inches. I scored at 5 inches and 5 1/4 inches.
A few weeks ago, I created a card using this Hampton Art Stamps/Graphic 45 image from the Nutcracker Sweet collection. I love how Clara turned out, so I used her again for this notepad. The dreams sentiment is from the Hampton Art Stamps/Art Warehouse Holiday Dreams and Wishes stamp set.
I added a calendar to the inside of the notepad holder. This is a vintage calendar that I found online and printed onto cardstock. (I am sorry, I forget where I found it so I don't have a link for you.) Since the top of the notepad is sort of ugly, I covered it with some printed paper. I have a huge stash of Christmas papers and don't feel a bit bad about using older papers for my gifts. {grin}
I added a white and pink poinsettia die cut. Another easy way to add embellishments to your holiday gifts is to create flowers from cardstock using your dies and punches. This die set was released last year, but I am happy to get more use out of it again this year!
Ribbon is another easy and cost-effective addition to your holiday projects. I loved using this pink ribbon for a non-traditional Christmas look. If you want to make these notepad covers for the men in your life, use twine, jute, or burlap ribbon.
