Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #80

Time again for a Really Reasonable Ribbon ChallengeNEW Challenge is make a project that is shabby chic, plus ribbon!

I know that half of you will look at my card and shout, "Hey, that's not shabby chic!" And the other half will look at it and say, "Hey, it's about time we have some dark shabby chic!" {grin} The truth is, I had a "throw down" with the other RRR girls and told them that I would do a dark version of shabby chic. So there you have it.

I think that shabby chic can be whatever you want it to be. It has to look shabby and be chic - whatever chic is! I chose these dark Graphic 45 papers (always chic) and shabby-ed them up!

I just purchased a batch of Seam Binding from the RRR store, and wanted to use some of it. I used Peacock Alley and Black. I tied some loopy bows and glued them to the card. I added the Halloween Baker's Twine, some flowers and a tiny light bulb.

To create the shabby look, I put layers and layers of paper and then folded some layers back to reveal the layer underneath! I love the look of crumpled paper!

This card has about 3 pounds of product on it! Just the way I like it. (giggle)

  1. Fabulous details. I love the little hole punches in the fishtail banners...so unexpected and fun! I also love the layers....yummy! You keep inventing new genres...first, vintage fresh and now, shabby dark. You trend setter, you!

  3. Isn't this just gorgeous?! I adore it! So pretty!!!And here's what I like about it; it has a shabby, chic look, but it is not devoid of color. Too often we see this genre of card in pale colors only, but this just proves that does not have to be the case.
