December 1st through December 12th, on the Graphic 45 Blog, you will see a card designed by me, plus a gift tutorial inspired by my card and created by one of the current G45 team!
On the Second Day of Christmas My True Love Gave to Me...
Two Turtle Doves
My favorite sheet of paper in the 12 Days of Christmas collection is Christmas Rose. It is such a pretty blend of colors and invokes vintage Christmas cards and postcards.
I created a dark green 5x5 inch card, lined with pale peach cardstock. I tried to match the peach and green of the printed paper.
I cut the title from the paper with a die cut and smudged it with some ink.
I wanted the doves to stand out a bit, so I covered them with glitter glue. They are quite sparkly. I used one of the chipboard elements to create a tag sentiment. I created "fluffy" bows with silk ribbon and glued them to the top of the tag. The finishing touch is a "silver bell."
I added a bit of lace to the card also. You can see it peeking out. I think vintage creations always can use a bit of lace!
I used foam adhesive to add extra dimension to the layers. When I was trying to pick my images for the card front, I used a rectangle die template to "frame" sections of the paper to decide which portions of the paper worked best for my card.
I decorated the inside of the card with a postage image sticker and a strip from the Joyeux Noel paper.
