I was trying to play along with the Winter Scene challenge, and failed miserably. But, at least I have my 2nd Christmas card for the year finished! {insert blushing red face here}
I used two stamp sets, Old Fashioned Christmas and Christmas Innies.
I stamped the sleigh ride image from the Old Fashioned Christmas set with black ink. I added some white pen for snow, and then colored the sky and snow with Copics. Simple. I went with an unexpected color palette, but still with a snowy feeling paper.
For the fun part...I have had this "paper kit" in my stash for AGES. I am guessing it goes back over 10 years! The pack contains some shades of purple and blue cardstock and coordinating printed paper. I purchased these items and put them together in a "kit" thinking to use them on a snowy day layout. Well, we moved to Southern California and we don't HAVE snowy days...so this paper pack has just been sitting! Well, I broke into it and CUT THAT PAPER! {We moved here over 9 years ago, so I am sure this paper is older than that! And I think that the designer paper company is now out of business.}
I went with the snow theme, by adding some snowflake buttons and a white jingle bell.
I added a sentiment from the Christmas Innies set.
I hope you enjoyed my card. I am still in love with the color scheme, even if it is really OLD paper! Thanks for visiting me today.

Very pretty card. I'm not quite ready to think about Christmas, but I won't be able to put it off for too much longer. ;-) Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteOh please do not do that to me! Christmas...really? OK! And this is totally beautiful!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! So glad I'm not the only one who has paper that old. (wink!)
ReplyDeleteHi Stunning card,but I can not think about Christmas now lol
ReplyDeleteIta.
I think it is a lovely, beautiful card. I love the colors. I too sometimes find "mystery" papers that I know are over a decade old. But unlike you, I wasn't wise enough to pair them up with matching pieces. Missmash is what I find.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, love the layout and the beautiful bow too. ~Diane
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Gloria. Love the papers, the bell... the snowflakes peeking out from behind the oval are awesome.
ReplyDeleteGloria, this is stunning! I love the frosty wintry feel you created here!
