Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge #16

Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge #16 posts today!  Remember, you have two weeks to play in the new challenge, which closes September 28th at midnight PT.

Challenge #16 Who Loves School and Office Supplies?
Most paper crafters also love school and office supplies. We love crayons, markers, shaped paperclips, notepads, folders, and more! If you hoard school and office products, get them out! Use them up! Use at least one item that is really a school or office supply on your project.

Yes, I sure do hoard school and office supplies! We are a homeschool family, which means we "need" lots of school and office supplies. Right?! I used some of my hoarded items for this scrapbook layout.

I also have a "thing" for old stuff, including old cameras. I found this photo on the Pottery Barn website a few years ago and saved hoarded it. I decided to print it onto cream cardstock and use it as my focal point for this layout. This layout is for my "book of me" album, where I scrapbook about all sorts of stuff that makes me happy.

I even dragged out my poor, sad Cricut Expression to cut the title for this page! I have had that thing for YEARS and rarely use it. I have been discovering some new love for it and even purchased a few new cartridges!

I used a lot of office supplies on this page: staples, paper clips, a memo pin, a mini file folder, a label from a label-maker. I also used paper that would make you think of school, including a bit of actual graph paper from my son's notebook! I used the clock paper (Graphic 45 Times Nouveau) because I wanted to convey the idea of time moving along and that photos are snapshots in time. {corny, but true}

I used the Prima distressing tool to rough up the paper edges. I also used a notebook edge punch to punch a few of the paper edges, for that "school-ish" look.

Talk about hoarding...I used up some of my hoarded washi tape, too! I don't even like washi tape, so I am not sure why I have a whole bin of it hoarded! I used some of it on this layout and it is really fun! One kind has the days of the week printed on it and the other looks like bits of old book paper.

I wanted to make sure that I used our sponsor product, so I printed some digital papers from Crafty Secrets and used them to create the flowers. (A few of the other printed embellishments are from Crafty Secrets, too.)

I used Heartfelt Creations Classic Sunflower stamps and die template and the Sun Kissed Fleur stamps and die template to create the flowers. I stamped the images onto the Crafty Secrets digital paper with brown ink, and then used the die templates to cut them out. (I printed the digital papers onto cream cardstock.) I like the mix of black and dark brown on this layout. It gives it that sepia tone so common in true vintage photos.

I inked the flowers and leaves with distress inks, and then misted them with a bit if Lindy's Stamp Gang mist. The mist (or plain water) will make the flowers easier to shape. You only need a bit of moisture! Don't soak the poor dudes! Once the paper dries, the flowers will keep their shape and be a bit "stiff."

I used a foam pad and a few stylus sizes to shape the flowers and leaves. I really want THESE tools from Heartfelt Creations! They are on my wish list! For now, I am making do with what I have in my stash.

I combined the flowers and leaves to make a fancy "photo corner" for my photograph. I tucked in a few bits, like tiny light bulbs and a clock, plus some small images. I added some gems to some of the flowers for centers.

Lindy’s Stamp Gang is the creative” baby” of Lindy Plakinger. She passed away in 2008 after bravely battling illness. She was a self-made cartoonist, loved drawing, crafting, designing new products, and creating her funny cartoon characters! One of her greatest joys was traveling to stamping and scrapbooking conventions across the US, demo-ing to her heart’s content with her sister, and giggle partner, Vicki!

Lindy’s Stamp Gang will continue, as was her hope, and dream. Her husband and daughter have taken over the company keeping her creativity alive. Tracey, (her daughter), has always been a “jar filler” in the background of Lindy’s Stamp Gang, but is now trying to fill some incredible shoes!

Lindy's luscious luster is all uniquely two-toned! With vibrant shimmery sprays, flat sprays, vintage sprays, embossing powder and lots more!
