Crafty Secrets Vintage Santa

I know! It is September and here I am, acting like the local craft store and putting out Christmas stuff a month before Halloween! But, don't be hating on me! It is so HOT here that I am trying to think snowy thoughts!

I printed out some wonderful, digital items from Crafty Secrets and created this vintage Santa card. It makes me think of snow, hot chocolate, and sugar cookies! {And it's about 80 degrees here, and super humid! Yuck!}

I have a thing for vintage Santa images. I decorate with them at Christmas, and every year I buy one vintage Santa ornament. I started the love affair with Old St. Nick when I was first married because my husband liked the old fashioned images. He has "gone off" Santa in recent years, but I find that I still enjoy the vintage images, so...there you go!

I created a 6 x 4 1/2 inch, top-fold card using white cardstock. I added kraft as well...think sugar cookies!

I printed the digital papers and the Santa image from the Crafty Secrets Vintage Christmas CD #6. I also printed one sheet of paper from the Retro Christmas CD #5. You can see that bit in the upper right corner of the card.

I added a bit of cheesecloth and some twine behind the main image, just to ramp up that vintage vibe!

I used a deckle die cut shape to trim out the Santa image. It really does look tattered and vintage!

I poked around in my stash for some Christmas floral bits. I found some velvet flowers and some other odds and ends, and created this cluster.

For the inside, I stamped the sentiment from the Crafty Secrets Season's Greetings stamp set. This set is ON SALE for $5.95! What a steal!

I added a strip of the digital paper, and a ticket image, also from the Vintage Christmas CD.

I hope you will forgive my decent into Christmas so early in the year! {Especially when you see what is on the blog on Thursday!} But, enjoy a cookie on me!

  2. I love the inside of your card as much as the outside. The vintage image is one of my favorites for sure! I also love the cheese cloth peeping out from under the image.
