Canvas Corp Valentine Card

Welcome to my very first post as part of the Canvas Corp Crew! I announced my spot on this team back before the Christmas holidays, but this is the first time I have had a project to share! I hope it is worth the wait!

The entire Canvas Corp Crew was asked to create a Valentine to share on the Canvas Corp Blog, and this is what I created. I love to mix red and pink with black and ivory, but how often can you do that?! Valentine's Day is the one holiday that allows for such an interesting color combination!

I created a 5" x 7" top-fold card from black cardstock. I then distressed a piece of Canvas Corp Red and Ivory Toile cardstock and attached it to the front of the card.

To create the main background, I used a Deco Art stencil (Distressed Harlequin) and a sheet of Canvas Corp Black and Ivory French Script cardstock. I taped the stencil (which is 12" x 12") to the sheet of printed cardstock. I rubbed over the stencil with Spun Sugar Distress ink. I then lifted the stencil and slid it over to cover the inked portions. I sprayed the newly exposed cardstock areas with Tattered Angels Pearl Glimmer Mist.

I trimmed the altered paper to size, distressed the edges and attached it to the card front. It is hard to see here, but the "white" diamonds are very sparkly!

I curled the edges of the script paper to reveal the toile beneath. (I know, I wasted a 5" x 7" piece of the toile! But it was worth it!) The sentiment is a 7 Gypsies wood stamp (You + Me),

To create the heart embellishment, I used a Couture Creations die template to trim a heart shape from Canvas Corp C-Flute Tiles (corrugated paper). I sprayed the heart with Tattered Angels Vintage Pink and Pearl Glimmer Mist. I allowed the paper to air dry. I then die cut a plain heart from the Red and Ivory Toile paper and placed it behind the corrugated heart.

I created the flowers by stamping and die cutting scraps of the Red and Ivory Toile with Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms stamps and dies.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my shabby chic Valentine card! Visit the Canvas Corp Blog for more inspiration!
