Who is excited that Graphic 45 has re-released the Botanicabella Collection?! I know that I am! I still have some of this paper in my hoard from when it was released the first time. Don't you judge me! {giggle} I love this timeless collection with its flora and fauna images!
I created a birthday card for a dear friend for her special day next week. (I hope she looks away!)
The card is 5" x 6" and uses the rust, orange, and yellow papers in the collection. I used black as my accent color to make the papers pop.
I found the flower in my hoard, but it was not a sunflower. I used fringe scissors to snip the petals of the flower. Then I crumpled the petals a bit, and now...I have a sunflower...sort of.
I used distress inks to watercolor the sunflower image. I "smooshed" the ink onto a craft mat, and then picked it up with a watercolor brush and color-ized the flowers. The Graphic 45 paper is fairly thick so it takes water fairly well, as long as you don't soak the paper too much. I fussy cut the image and then inked around the edges to make the paper look old and torn.
The die cut sentiment is a new purchase. I recently purchased a set of dies from Papertrey Ink that are the perfect size for cards. I don't have a Silhouette machine, but I love the look of die cut words, so...I have started a "collection" of metal dies...once again, don't judge!
I added some twine and a few "berries" to my flower.
I love all the paper layers and dimension on this card. I fussy cut the butterfly and popped it up as a little surprise on the card.
As always, I decorated the inside of the card. The stamped sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I have a huge collection of stamps that I rarely use. True confession - some of my stamps have NEVER been used! I am on a mission to USE more of my stuff!
Thanks for looking!
