I created one of my favorite type of projects, an 8" x 8" card folio, for my project this month.
I attached two sheets of cardstock together to create a side-fold, 8" x 8" card folio. I used the bright and retro colors of the Young at Heart Paper Collection to create a cover for my folio. Using the truck image from the Simply Classic Die, I cut out one of the pre-colored images from the paper collection and popped it off the card with foam tape.I stamped the roses with the Classic Rose Cling Stamp Set and die cut them with the Classic Rose Die. I used paper from the Flowering Dogwood Paper Collection. I shaded the flowers with distress ink and then used the 3D Rose Shaping Mold to shape the flowers before assembling them. I placed a bit of glitter glue into each flower center.
I should note that this is the first time I have used the NEW Shaping Molds. My oldest son bought me a set of the molds for Christmas, but this is the first chance I have had to try them out. The mold works very well, and does make shaping the flowers a bit easier. I have to play a bit more to see if I get better results. I used the printed paper and spayed them with too much water, so the paper became sort of limp. I had to allow the flowers to dry overnight before I could assemble them! To see a "how-to" video, click HERE.
The leaves are stamped from the Simply Classic Cling Stamp Set onto green paper with green distress ink, then cut with the Simply Classic Die.
The inside of the folio has space for two photos. (I sort of copied my layout idea from my Valentine's Folio, seen HERE.)
I used the car die from the Young at Heart Die set to cut out another of the pre-colored car images. I popped the image over one of the ephemera cards from the paper collection.
I die cut the VW Bug using the matching die in the Simply Classic Die set and attached it and the die cut sign with foam tape. I love having the option of stamping, coloring, and diecutting images or simply die cutting the pre-colored images from the paper collection! Using the pre-made images from the collection makes for a QUICK project!
