Really Reasonable Ribbon January 2018 Blog Hop

Welcome to the Really Reasonable Ribbon January Blog HopYou should be coming to my blog from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog. (For the complete blog list, scroll to the bottom of the post.) After visiting me, hop over to the spectacular Ginny's Blog next!

At the end of the hop, comment on the RRR Blog post, answering the question listed, for a chance to win the January Ribbon Club Assortment shown below. (The Design Team appreciates your comments, too!)
This month the collection is called Valentine Mix. This all pink and white assortment is so pretty! I used up every scrap of a few of the ribbons already, and they are on my "reorder" form!

I love all these pale pinks because they are perfect for a set of cards I've been wanting to make for my sister for a LONG time!
My sister and I used to collect pig figurines...well we sort of sent each other pigs all the time as an inside joke, and they became a bit of a collection. She still has hers, but mine got lost or broken over the years.

Well, about a year ago I purchased a set of cute piggie stamps meaning to make my sister a piggie-themed gift. Well...as always happens with me, other projects invaded Gloria's Craft World!
I finally took the time to make up a set of cards and a tag! I made four A2 cards and placed them with envelopes into a clear plastic box.
I wrapped the box with Delicate Stitched Satin Pearl Pink ribbon. I then tied a big, floofy bow from the same ribbon. I added the tag to the box to make a sweet gift.
The tag is 4" x 2 1/4". I stamped onto kraft cardstock and colored the image with pencils. I added some enamel dots and tiny dots with a pen. I tucked a bit of the Crochet Lace under the tag topper.
The four cards are all the same design. I varied the colored image and the paper. I also used different ribbons for each card. I love the cute piggie and the fun sentiment for this one.
I wrapped the top of this card with the Pearl Pink Taffeta Ribbon. I then layered the Random Mixed Pink Stars on White Grosgrain over the top. I added a bit of Red Burlap String to the center of the ribbon stack.
This little guy is perfect for Valentine's Day!
I wrapped the top of this card with the Pearl Pink Taffeta Ribbon again. I then layered the Crochet Lace over the top. I added a bit of Red Burlap String to the center of the ribbon stack.
This little piggie was a favorite for everyone in the house! The kids could not stop giggling over his little piggie bottom! (My kids are 26, 22, and 17, so I guess naked bottoms are always funny! Even at my age of "let's not go there," it is funny!)

I added the balloons, one at a time by masking parts of the image.
I wrapped the top of this card with the Ruby Red Diamond Satin Ribbon (5/8" seems to be out of stock). I then layered the Crochet Lace over the top. I added a bit of Red Burlap String to the center of the ribbon stack.
This little piggie is dancing, but I added the kit image so that it looks as if he's flying a kite. I had such fun coloring all the images with pencil. I don't have much experience coloring on kraft cardstock, but it was very cool to do!
I wrapped the top of this card with the Pearl Pink Taffeta Ribbon again. I then layered the Crochet Lace over the top. I added a bit of Red Burlap String to the center of the ribbon stack.
The new paper collection from Authentique is called Sweetheart. It was perfect for my selection of cards! (As a side note, I am staying with the Authentique DT for a while longer, at least through March....let's hope even beyond that!)
The cards look adorable, all wrapped up in a clear box!

Now, hop over to Ginny's Blog to see what she has for you! Ginny is the QUEEN of all things layered and ribbon-y, so I am sure she has a beauty for you to see!

  18. I don't usually make Valentine cards (it's not my favorite holiday, so I usually buy a few Hallmarks that I *have* to send, and call it a day!)
BUT, that's because I've not thought of anything as clever as 'Hogs and Kisses' or 'Miss You Pig Time' or 'You Hog My Heart' - adorable! LOL
    Thanks for the inspiration!
