This month the collection is called Red, White, and Blue Mix. This is always one of my favorite mixes of the year! I LOVE red/white/blue and making patriotic cards and projects. Having my dad and all four brothers in the military, as well as assorted uncles, nephews, cousins, and at least one aunt, makes for lots of photos and memories!
I was really excited by the red poppy print ribbon in this assortment. I don't often use the printed ribbons, mostly because I tend to use really busy paper, but also, most printed ribbon is not printed on the back! However, this ribbon was just so pretty and interesting that I threw caution to the wind and used it!
The card is 6" x 5". I used a lot of retired stuff on this one - the paper and the epoxy words are older and not available any more. I have a bin of patriotic items that I keep adding to. I don't mind if things are older. It's still good stuff!
To create the ribbon band, I put down TWO pieces of the Royal Blue Taffeta and then add the Red Poppy Print Satin on top. I needed a wider base, which I achieved with the two pieces of blue ribbon. That was using my noggin! I added a few loops of metallic string, which is no longer being carried in the store, but the Silver Metallic Baker's Twine is similar.

Now, hop over to Ginny's Blog to see what she has for you!
