Really Reasonable Ribbon March Blog Hop

Welcome to the Really Reasonable Ribbon March Blog HopYou should be coming to my blog from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog. (For the complete blog list, scroll to the bottom of the post.) After visiting me, hop over to the spectacular Ginny's Blog next!

At the end of the hop, comment on the RRR Blog post, answering the question listed, for a chance to win the March Ribbon Club Assortment shown below. (The Design Team appreciates your comments, too!)

The March Ribbon Club Assortment is filled with lovey reds, pinks,and charcoals! The first thing I thought of was an elegant wedding...but then I got to thinking about...well...food. I have just started a new health plan that focuses on food, exercise, stress, and sleep as a way to help folks make healthy life choices. I have to write down every bit of food I put in my mouth for the next 16 weeks...so I am thinking about food a lot!
I found this Power Poppy digital image called Berry It in my stash. I knew I could color the berries to match the red ribbons! (The sentiment is from the Juicy Strawberries digital set.)

I used Copic markers and Prismacolor colored pencils to color the image. I love how it turned out, because reds are so hard to do and keep them from bleeding all over the place! Since I started to use the Hammermill cardstock, I have far less bleeding than in the past. {YAY!}
I cut out the image with a bit of extra space at the bottom so I could add this fabby ribbon! I wrapped the image panel with the Charcoal Delicate Stitched Satin, then I wrapped again with the Red Satin Swiss Mini Dots ribbon.

I created a bow with the Red Diamond Satin and topped it with a small bow made from the Red Satin Swiss Mini Dots. I wrapped a piece of the Swiss Mini Dots ribbon around both bows and glued them in place.
This card is very simple, with just one layer of red Spectrum cardstock and the black card. The card is 6" tall and 4 3/4" wide. I think I may have to make a custom envelope or use a padded mailer for this one. The bow does stick up a bit!
Thanks for joining me today! Now, hop over to Ginny's Blog to see what she has for you!

Here is the RRR Blog Hop Order in case you get lost!

  7. You did a great job with the reds. I too, find them hard to work with. I've never heard of that kind of cardstock. Where can I buy some? I have that stamp and would like to try the reds on other paper. Thanks. Edna Burgess
