The June Ribbon Club Assortment is a spectacular collection of turquoise and pink with pops of white!
I have been paying with my Silhouette Cameo for the past week, so be prepared to see some fun, out-of-the-Gloria-box projects on the blog over the next few weeks and months! I have had the Cameo for a couple of years and have rarely used it. I have recently discovered some new cut files, and have been experimenting with what the machine can do! Party time cutting stuff all around here!
I purchased a cut file that has four mini milk boxes and a tote (Lori Whitlock 4 Milk Carton Tote), and decided to mess around with it. In the end, I re-sized the milk carton and cut two short, chubby ones and one taller carton.
The small cartons are approximately 3 3/4" tall and 2 3/4" wide/deep. The taller one is about 5 1/4" tall and 2 1/2" wide/deep. These are perfect for holding small gifts or goodies, or just to decorate a shelf or desk.
I cut all three cartons from natural, smooth cardstock. I used glue and tape to assemble them. They are very easy to cut out and assemble! I did not use the Silhouette to cut my decorative paper, I just measured and cut with my trimmer, the old fashioned way!
For this taller carton, i used the Hot Pink Taffeta and the Summer Fun Confetti Dot Grosgrain ribbons to make bows for the top of my milk carton. I added some pink and ivory flowers and a pink bead.
If you plan to use your carton for a gift box, make sure you secure the top with some ribbon or a clip. I plan to use mine as home decor, so I simply glued the top closed. It is also wise to add some weight to your box if you plan to use it as home decor. Putting a few pebbles, marbles, or a baggie of sand into the carton will keep it from tipping over.
I like the smaller version of the carton better. I like the more chubby shape. You can put a nice stack of chocolate squares into this guy and have a wonderful little gift. I used the wonderful blue papers from the Graphic 45 Imagine Collection for this box.
I love how crisp this looks. Such a fun, easy project, and one perfect for using up paper scraps!
The ribbons for this box are the Turquoise Satin with Silver Metallic Edge and white lace ribbon. Some of the flowers are from a pack of Prima flowers that I picked up at Hobby Lobby the other day. The rest are from the RRR store, here.
Both pink boxes use paper from the Graphic 45 Flutter Collection. Usually the "Graphic 45 pink" is more a salmon shade, but the pinks in Flutter are really a nice, almost hot pink! Perfect for all the pink ribbons in the June Ribbon Club!
I used the Hot Pink Satin with Silver Metallic Edge and the Bright Pink Plaid ribbons. I added ivory and pink flowers as well.
Here is a look at the back side of the top. I glued my top together, but if you want to be able to open your box, then you need to use a clip or use the holes (which I covered with paper) to tie the top closed.
Thanks for joining me today! Now, hop over to Ginny's Blog to see what she has for you! Here is the RRR Blog Hop Order in case you get lost!
