Monthly Coloring Series - December 2019

Welcome to the December project of the 2019 - 2020 Coloring Series! To read the introduction post for this series, click HERE. To see all the coloring series projects, click HERE

I am  a little late AGAIN this month! I am so sorry. My big excuse this month is that since I have joined the Power Poppy Instant Gardener Team, I had to work on the big Christmas release! That put me a bit behind! But, I wanted to color a special image for you and not use one of the projects I colored for the release! I hope you will forgive me for posting five days late!!
I went to an all day craft event on Saturday and colored this image for you! This beautiful creation is from the Forest Finds digital stamp set (shown below). I wanted to show some shine and sparkle with this one, as the image is so unique. I love that actual plants are shown as ornaments!

I created a card that is slightly larger than 6" x 6" and added a fantastic bow!
I love the pinecone, tiny pumpkin, and pomegranate ornaments, but the fact that they are arranged in a pot with leaves, berries, and twigs just makes them so special. I adore the sentiments that come with this set as well.
I went with a traditional color scheme, but in fact it was difficult to decide what colors to use! I normally try to color with realism (or realistic colors), but there are just times when that does not work for what I want to convey! I mixed realism (the leaves and berries) with the colors found in Christmas ornaments (blue, silver, gold).
I used Copic markers, but added a bit of colored pencil to some areas for extra shading. I also added some glitter glue to the small ornament and to the snow on the pinecone. (The camera did not pick up the sparkle very well.) I have listed the colors I used for this project down below in the supply list.
I sized the image at approximately 5" tall, then added the sentiment before printing onto cardstock. If you like to make smaller sized cards, you can adjust the size of your images to fit your needs. If you are new to coloring, especially if you are new to alcohol markers, you may find that printing your images a bit larger will help you learn to master your markers faster.
I have been thinking about creating a few videos of my coloring process. Let me know in the comments if that is of interest to you. If enough folks would enjoy some process videos, I will try to make a few!

Thanks for stopping by. I will have the January project ready on or near January 5, 2020. Until then...happy coloring!
