Now, let's get started with the fun! You should be coming to my blog from Alissa's Blog. After visiting me, head on to Lynn's Blog. If you are lost, see the blog link list at the end of this post.
I was happily making my card, when I realized it looked remarkably like the card I made for the July Hop! My great mind thinks just like...myself! {giggle} I have copied off my own work on purpose before, but I think this may be the first time I did it unconsciously!
The card base is made from black heavy weight cardstock and measures 6" x 6". Cut a piece of the off-white cardstock to 5 7/8" x 5 7/8" and attach it to the card front. Next cute a piece of wine cardstock to 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" and attach it to the card front.
Next cut a piece of decorative paper from the Moments in Time Paper Collection to 5 5/8" x 5 5/8" and attach it to the card front I used the clocks and flowers print. (So may lovely layers!)
Using the Decorative Courtyard Outline Die from the French Courtyard die set, cut an overlay from pinkish/lavender paper using the Moments in Time paper collection. Use the Designer Dries Clear Adhesive to attach the die cut panel to the card front.
To create the center embellishment, use a combination of French Courtyard dies, Circle Basics Large dies, and Eyelet Circle and Basics Small dies to cut images from the paper collection to create the look shown. Stack everything together and attach the stack to the center of the card front.
Now, for the flowers and leaves!
To create the flowers use the Classic Rose cling stamp set and the Classic Rose die set. Stamp the flowers several times onto white cardstock, using wine colored ink (see the list below). Once the flowers are all stamped, color them with various shades of wine or magenta ink using an ink blending brush. Choose petal colors that are lighter than the color of ink you use to stamp the images. Once the flowers are all colored, die cut them out with the matching dies.
Next, stamp the leaves from the Classic Rose cling stamp set onto a sheet of white cardstock using green ink. Color the leaves with variuos shades of green ink. Die cut the leaves with the Classic Rose die set.
Place the die cut flowers and leaf shapes face down into the 3D Rose Shaping Mold and spay them lightly with water. Run the mold through your die cutting machine. Allow the shapes to dry before removing them from the mold. I like to take the "lid" off the mold and allow the paper to air dry for a few minutes.Use the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit to further shape all the flower petals and then stack them in various combinations to make blooms. Add some pearl stamens to the center of some of the flowers. Use the Designer Dries Clear Adhesive to glue the various petals together.
Once all the flowers and leaves are ready to go, glue them onto the card front, making sure to place them one the left edge of the center circle embellishment. I used hot glue to attach all the flowers and leaves to the card front.
Finish the card by placing pearl dots (or similar) to the card front as shown. Then add a green gingham bow to the top center of the card.
Thanks for hopping by! Hop on over to Lynn's Blog next. DON'T FORGET...POST A COMMENT FOR YOUR CHANCE TO WIN A $25 GIFT CARD TO HEARTFELT CREATIONS!
