Power Poppy Blossom Challenge - Gold, Sliver, and Glimmer

Hello and welcome to the Blog! The Power Poppy Bloom Brigade is bringing you a monthly challenge the third Monday of every month! The lovely and super talented Christine Okken is your hostess each month! The challenge is called The Blossom Challenge and will be a different theme or type of challenge each month!

This month the theme is: Gold, Silver, and Glimmer (or Shimmer). So grab a Power Poppy image and add some gold, silver, and/or glimmer!

Our challenge WINNER will receive a $20 gift card to use at the Power Poppy Store!! The challenge is open until November 20th! Link up your project to the Power Poppy Blog for a chance to win! Winners will be posted next month on the Power Poppy Blog.

To sweeten the deal Power Poppy has discounted a few glittery stamps for you HERE.

The September/October winner is posted today on the Power Poppy Blog...hop over to see if it is you!

Now here is a look at my inspiration project for the challenge: Gold, Silver, and Glimmer!

I decided to go with a clean and simple card, which is always easier for me to do when I have a colored image for the focal point. My love for printed paper is legendary, but I do like to just color sometimes. {smile}

I have a few blown glass (is that the correct term?) ornaments, which I love. Because I really enjoy the vintage vibe for the holidays, I decided to color these acorn ornaments in vintage gold.
The digital stamp set I used is called Acorn Ornaments, but I cannot find it in the shop! It was there and poof, now it is gone. If you want to color some ornaments, I suggest Glass Ornament Bough, Forest Finds, Glittering Glass Santa, or one of the Enchanted Branches sets.

The sentiment is from the Bittersweet Wreath set.
I colored the acorns with Prismacolor pencils. To get the vintage gold look I used: Black, Dark  Umber, Dark Brown, Sienna Brown, Burnt Ochre, Yellow Ochre, Canary Yellow, Deco Yellow, Cream, and White.

I used a stitched die to cut out the image panel, then matted it with metallic amber cardsotck. So shimmery in person! The card is made from black cardstock and measures 4 3/4" x 6".
I scavenged through my bins of "bling" to find some vintage and metallic looking dots and sequins. In person this card really sparkles!

hope you have fun with the Gold, Silver, and Glimmer (or Shimmer) challenge this month, and please tell your friends! It will be great to have a lot of participants in our monthly Blossom Challenge at Power Poppy!

Make sure you visit the Shop, to see what is on offer!
