Really Reasonable Ribbon December Blog Hop

Welcome to the Really Reasonable Ribbon December Blog Hop!

You should be coming to my blog from Ginny's Blog After visiting me hop on to Kathy's Blog next! (The full blog list is at the end of the post.)

At the end of the hop, comment on the RRR Blog post, answering the question listed, for a chance to win the December Ribbon Club Assortment shown below. The Design Team appreciates your comments, too!
The December Ribbon Club is called Winter Carnival Mix. It is always fun to see what Bonnie chooses for the December Club each year, as it is always an "alternative" color scheme that can be used for non-traditional Christmas projects, or for other winter makes! This collection is just lovely! I had so much fun picking papers to match!
I chose to make a 5" x 5" card today, which is a size that I like...AND for which I have plenty of envelopes! I also pulled out some old Christmas paper...from 2017 and 2009! Can you believe I have paper from before 2010 that is still sealed in plastic?!! When I was working on a lot of design team projects, I would still buy other products for myself...and then never have time to use it! The TIME is NOW!
I matched this cute Santa image and the adorable hot cocoa paper with the ribbon, and I think this is the cutest card ever! I love the soft pink and the icy blue together.
I created a double bow with the 5/8" Mineral Ice Taffeta ribbon and the 3/8" Tulip with Geometric Flower Print on Satin ribbon. I fussy cut the sentiment from the paper and glue it to the top of the bow.
I love creating bows with so many loops! I use hot glue to get them the shape and position that is pleasing to me. I always use the Bow-It-All tool to make my bows. I have tried other ways, but I just cannot seem to get the look I want without the BIA tool! So....if you need a gift for yourself this season...this would be a good one! {smile}
I added a few sparkly sequins and gems to the card for that festive shine! Do you have your Christmas cards finished? I have a good selection and think I have enough! But next year, I fear I will need to get a head start!

That is my inspiration for this month, now, hop over to Kathy's Blog to see what she has for you!

  4. My creative brain is still having a hard time incorporating pastels into Christmas projects...I know I'm a traditionalist. Still, that Santa image is nice.

  7. What a wonderful card- I do love the colors! I'm new to the Ribbon club and when I see those bows I swoon! After Christmas I am going to learn- thanks for the hot glue tip! It doesn't melt the ribbon?

    1. Susan, I have never had ribbon melt from the hot glue. I use a glue gun made for crafters, so it doesn't get super hot really. Plus the ribbon is all of excellent quality. I have always used hot glue to attach my ribbons as it just seems to last longer than other adhesive choices. ;)
