365 Cards Monday - DIY
My Monday 365 Cards challenge was to make a DIY Sentiment...however when I saw the blog today it said the challenge was DIY - Decorate Chipboard. Well, I did BOTH on this card, so it works either way!
The papers are all October Afternoon from the February Apron Strings Designs kit.
I wrote the sentiment by hand, based on an old "country style" stamp I have in my stash. I like how the sentiment is positioned on the stamp, but the letters all have the "country dots" on each end, which is a look I don't care for. So I wrote the sentiment in a sort of sketchy manner to make it look more modern and "boyish." I used a Zig pen. Then I distressed the paper by dipping a scrap of cardstock into an ink pad and pressing lines across the sentiment.
I punched the star from some thin chipboard. I punched it twice to give it more dimension. Then I punched the star again from a scrap of paper to cover the chipboard. The buttons are tied together in a "stack" to give it some fun dimension.
Mac Mae Card Kits
Here are the rest of the cards I made with the April Mac Mae Card Kit. Make sure to check the Mac Mae site to see a reveal of the May kit - coming soon!
This is one of my favorites that I made with this kit. I just love using flowers! Some of these were in the kit and some were from my stash.
And this one follows a sketch from my LSS club. The paper is very pink My Mind's Eye! I also used a Cuttlebug paisley die. Too fun. And I am almost finished with 2003 photos!
Thanks for looking! Check back tomorrow for the winner of the TTS Blog Hop!
I think that DIY sentiment is SO SO fabulous! It looks so much like a stamp. I am muy impressed. Love the chipboard too ; )
