Our Creative Corner Sketch #4

Here is the last February sketch from Our Creative Corner. This was a pretty simple sketch to work with, but I, of course, went way out in the weeds once I got started creating. I blame it on my gal pals as I worked on this card at our retreat! Totally their fault. Totally.

Here is my card. I used paper from a 6x6 Webster's Pages pad. I cut the pendant shape with a Spellbinders die. Then I inked up the edges and added some other details with smaller dies and punched butterflies. The large butterflies are cut from grungepaper with a Cuttlebug die.

I embossed the butterflies, but when I sprayed the grunge paper with my "Gloria Mist" it sort of soaked in a lot. But, I got the bonus of them looking like suede! I added the tiny pearls to their bodies. I recently saw some store-bought butterflies with pearls on them...I think they stole my idea! Honestly, ya gotta move fast in this industry! (joking, totally joking!)

I used some fancy trim that my friend Kellie sent me at Christmas and also borrowed my friend Karen's tiny SU tag punch and stamp set for the greeting. (But confess. You love those tiny Martha Stewart butterflies the most, right?)

Make sure you check out what the rest of the DT has made. You are sure to be blown away by their talent. Sometimes I get a sneak peek of the other work and my jaw just hits the floor! Check in with me tomorrow as I will have a couple of new cards for you! Plus...tomorrow is THE day for the Spellbinders 2010 team reveal. I am praying for a phone call. Pray with me now...
