A Basket of Christmas

I love Christmas. I love the music, the colors, the smells, the goodwill toward men. I love it all. I have always loved Christmas. When I became a Christian (at the ripe old age of 27), Christmas took on a new and deeper meaning for me. Now, I not only have all the "trappings" of the season, but I get to celebrate the birth of my Lord and Savior! How can you not love that?! Sometimes, when people are Saved, they throw away all the old Christmas celebrations as pagan or secular...but I have not done that. For me, being Saved just gives me more reason to celebrate, not less! If I could get away with it, I'd decorate for Christmas all year long! Really! Who does not love the smell of cinnamon and gingerbread? Who does not love twinkly lights? And getting to sing about the birth of my Savior 365 days a year?! Priceless!

All that to say, here is another Christmas card upon which you may feast your eyes.

The paper is My Mind's Eye from the Holly Jolly and Lost and Found lines. These papers were part of my LSS Club kit for September. Yum! MME has always been one of my favorite paper manufacturers. I have stacks of it in my hoard! And of course, I always need the Christmas lines! Oh, check out the ribbon. I found this green ribbon in my stash, and added the gems to it. It's so shiny and sparkly now!

The stamped image is the Vintage Picnic Basket set from Papertrey Ink. I just purchased this set, and have colored up a bunch of the images. So you'll be seeing more of them in the days and weeks to come!

I colored the image with Copics, then added some sparkly bits with gel pens. The layout idea is from a Verve Stamps sketch. (VSWCMD1) I even decorated the inside with more paper and a greeting from PTI.

I checked my box of Christmas cards and think I have only a few, so I need to step up the pace to get them finished by December. Some years I do an assembly line and make a lot of the same card. But for the past few years, I've made so many cards for design team work and for blog challenges, that everyone got a unique card! We'll see if I'm here on Dec. 22nd doing a frantic assembly line or not! Stay tuned...
