Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #42

Time for a new challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon! For Challenge #42, make a pink and brown themed project, plus ribbon.

My card today is a little joke on my family and friends who live in snowy places...

It is in the 70s here in San Diego...just sayin'! (Edited: since I wrote this post...it has dropped to barely the 60s! It's what I get for teasing!)

I colored the little image with Copics, naturally. I took the Copic Intermediate Certification class on January 28th, with Sherrie Siemens and Marianne Walker. Two very talented ladies! I had taken the Standard Certification class with Marianne back in May, so it was fun seeing her again!

I learned a ton in the class, however, if I can put it in practice is another story! I think I did a better job with light source on this image, but I still tend to "over blend." And as I sit here I realize I forgot to use the new Opaque White water based pigment that they gave me in class! This is a sort of paint that Copic has come out with! It's good stuff...too bad I forgot to use it!

Ok, now on to the RIBBON!

I used a bit of sheer ruffle edge in old gold to create a band on the card. But the fabbie part is that ribbon rose! I used Cosmo Cricket Glubers adhesive to create the flower.

First, I placed a small amount of bright pink totally twill down in the center of the Glubers. (The Glubers packaging gives directions on how to roll your flowers.) You need to create a small knot, then twist and roll the twill a few times. Snip the end and make sure it sticks to the Glubers. Next, I added 1 1/2 inch pink wrinkled ribbon. Since the wrinkled ribbon is wide, I folded and twisted it to create the dimension.

I had to use a bit of Beacon Fabri-Tac to glue the ribbon layers together since the ribbon was too "lumpy" to stick to the Glubers. That happens if you use wider ribbon. Once I had rolled enought ribbon to cover the entire Glubers circle, I tucked the end behind and attached the flower to the card. Ta-da!
