Last Minute Gift Ideas Blog Hop

Are you ready for the holidays? Do you need some last minute gift ideas? We invite you to join a great group of talented designers for a Last Minute Gift Ideas Blog HopHop from blog to blog and find easy, fast and amazing last minute gift ideas!

You can also win a great prize! Visit all the blogs participating in the hop (see list below), leave a comment, and you can win a $100 Visa gift card!

My LAST MINUTE GIFT IDEA projects are these cute tag holders, perfect for notepads, gift cards, business cards, or other small gifts! (For a full tutorial, scroll down.)
Each gift holder is made from a Graphic 45 Large Tag. The tags come six per pack in three colors, black, kraft, and ivory. I decided to make a holder from each color tag, using the G45 NEW Nature Sketchbook, Safari Adventure, and St. Nicholas Collections.
You can decorate these holders as plain or as fancy as you like! Each one takes under 10 minutes to complete, which makes them perfect for "bulk orders" or for when you are under a time crunch! This sweet Nature Sketchbook holder has just a bit of seam binding, a chipboard tag, and a fussy cut butterfly on the cover.
These tags are the perfect size for a standard-sized sticky-note pad! Simply stamp the notepad with a coordinating stamp for extra interest. Tuck a gift card into the pocket, and you are finished!
This is also the perfect gift for the guys in your life. Choose a masculine themed paper and tone down the decorations.
I decided to turn Safari Adventure holder into a business card holder for my husband. The pocket is the perfect size for most standard business cards!
If you simply need a last-minute Christmas gift, I have you covered for that, too! I decorated this holder with St. Nicholas paper and kept the front plain so you can write a message to your gift recipient.
Instead of a sticky-note pad, this holder has two pockets for extra gift cards! This project is perfect for using up all those paper scraps left over from your other projects!
You have plenty of chances to enter to win $100 Visa gift card each day of the hop, on any of the participating blogs. Here's the hop list:

TUTORIAL
This tutorial was originally created for Heartfelt Creations, but I am re-posting it here to help you with your last-minute projects!

I love to make notepad holders and fancy gift card holders. It makes giving small gifts such a joy, both for me and for the recipient. These notepad holders are also great gifts for teachers and coaches, or easy "bulk gifts" to make for a group of scrapbook or stamping pals.
The inside cover has a pocket for a gift card, or you could slip in a movie ticket or some good old American cash! And then there is space for a sticky notepad. (I wish I had some sticky notes in a color other than that horrid yellow! Why do they not come in cream or ivory?)

Come along, let's make the project!

We will create a 4 3/4" x 4 x 1/2" notepad holder which will fit a standard 3" x 3" sticky notepad. The tag is a Graphic45 Large Kraft Tag and measures approximately 3 7/8" x 8 3/4".

Score the tag on the long side a 3 1/2" and 4". (I changed this to 3 3/4" and 4 1/4" for some of the new samples.)
Fold on the score lines and burnish with a bone folder. Sponge tag edges with creamy brown chalk ink.

Unfold the tag with the grommet end to the left (with the outside of the tag facing up) and attach decorative paper to the outside of the tag notepad holder as follows. Trim black and ivory dot paper to 3 3/4" x 3 7/8" and round the left top and bottom corners. Sponge edges with creamy brown chalk ink and attach the paper to the left side of the tag. (If you changed the score measurements for the tag, cut the paper to 3 3/4" x 3 5/8".)

Trim a strip of black and ivory dot paper to 3 3/4" x 3/8" and sponge edges with creamy brown chalk ink. Attach the paper to the center section (the spine) of the notepad holder.

Trim a third piece of black and ivory dot paper to 3 3/4" x 3 3/8"and round the right upper and lower corners. Sponge edges with creamy brown chalk ink and attach the paper to the right side of the tag. (If you changed the score measurements for the tag, cut the paper to 3 3/4" x 3 5/8".)

Flip the tag over so that the grommet end is on the right. Decorate the inside of the notepad holder as follows. Trim notebook print paper to 3 3/4" x 3 3/8" and round the left top and bottom corners.

Trim a piece of tan and black dot paper to 3 3/4" x 3 7/8"and round the right upper and lower corners. Sponge edges with creamy brown chalk ink and attach the paper to the right side of the tag. (If you changed the score measurements for the tag, cut the paper to 3 3/4" x 3 5/8".)
Using strong double-sided adhesive, attach a 3" x 3" sticky-note pad to the right side of the notepad holder.
Create a pocket, suitable for holding a gift card, from black and ivory dot paper. Trim the paper to 3 3/4" x 1 1/2". Round both left corners and use a circle punch to create a notch in the center of the right edge. Sponge the edges with creamy brown Chalk Ink. Add 1/8" double-sided tape to the top, left, and bottom edges of the pocket and attach it to the left edge of the tag.

Stamp a sentiment or coordinating image onto the center of the first sticky-note with black ink.
A standard gift card will fit into the pocket as shown.
Trim canvas ribbon to 5 1/2" x 1/2" and knot one end. Thread the canvas ribbon through the grommet so that the knot is on the back of the tag. (This cotton blend ribbon is 2 1/2" wide. I cut it down to the width I needed and frayed the edges for that rustic look.)
Trim a second piece of canvas ribbon to 7 1/2" x 1/2" and glue one end to the center of the notepad holder's front cover.
Tie a loose knot with the ribbon ends to close the notepad holder.

Decorate the cover of the holder as desired.

For this projects, I created paper flowers using stamps with matching dies.

This is a perfect little gift!
