Welcome to Day 6 of the Power Poppy Christmas Remix Hop! If you missed any of the previous days, please visit the Power Poppy Blog! I am not participating in every day of the release, so make sure you go take a look at what the rest of the girls are doing with all these fantastic images!
The image that we are showcasing today is Poinsettia XL, which joins the rest of the XL Garden! These over-sized flowers are so fun to color! This digital download contains three variations of this stunning flower, a hand lettered sentiment, and a 5" x 7" full-bleed image! Each image includes a light grey version for no-line coloring.
I have been wanting to try coloring a white image onto kraft cardstock...and this was my chance! I printed the image and sentiment onto Neenah Desert Sand cardstock and colored with Prismacolor pencils. I was a challenge to actually color something white. Normally I rely on the white cardstock to do most of the work!I gave the flower petals a bit of a pink hue, but tried to make it seem white. It was such a fun challenge!
I added white gel pen to the sentiment and as snow all around the image. Since the image is so large, I decided to make the card a standard A2 size, and I had to go clean and simple with the design! Which is not really my "thing." But I admit that I love how it turned out!
I added some fun to the inside of the card as well. By not gluing down the top edge of the printed paper on the bottom panel, I have the perfect place to tuck a gift card!
All the supplies are listed below, including the pencils used to color the image.
Thanks for looking! Now, hop on to the other designers to see what they made!
