Welcome to the Really Reasonable Ribbon July Blog Hop! We have a COLOR THEME HOP again this month...each of the design team ladies is going to be creating a project using BEACH COLORS!
You should be coming to my blog from Ginny's Blog. After visiting me hop on to Kathy's Blog next! (The full blog list is at the end of the post.)
At the end of the hop, comment on the RRR Blog post, answering the question listed, for a chance to win a $10 Gift Card to the RRR Shop, plus one digital stamp set of your choice from Bonnie Garby Designs. The Design Team appreciates your comments, too!
Since we moved inland, I have not been to the beach, which is over an hour drive away! We used to live less than a 10 minute drive from the beach, but now we have to pack up and spend the day. Not my favorite thing! Especially when my backyard pool is warmer and less crowded! {grin}
However I still love beachy colors and beachy imagery! I am also a HUGE fan of blue, which is a pretty good beach color! I pulled out Graphic 45 By the Sea papers for my card. I love this collection and still have quite a lot of it in my stash! {yay me!}
I created a 5" x 7" top-fold card from blue cardstock. I had exactly TWO sheets of this particular blue, with no clue what brand or color it is! So I guess I won't be getting any more! I am so happy with all those shades of blue working together! The pops of orangey-red are perfect, too!
To create the focal image of the children playing in the sand, I cut one of the G45 cut-aparts in half, then reassembled it to make it smaller, but keep the border around the edge.
I used 5/8" Smoke Blue Taffeta ribbon to create a band around the center of the main card panel. I "anchored" the ribbon with two enamel dots. Fancy! I sprinkled the enamel dots here and there.
I created three loopy bows for my card. That is a lot of loops! I created one loop with the same 5/8" Smoke Blue Taffeta ribbon. I then created two bows using 1/2" Cream Seam Binding. I used to use a lot of seam binding, then I got hooked on the taffeta ribbon, and well, it happens!
I glued my fluffy bows to the card first, then I added a ton of flowers! I made a few cards this week with ZERO flowers, so this card got the motherlode!
To see all the various flowers I used, see the supply list below. If something is out of stock, just poke around and see what else is available in the colors you need.
The dark blue banners are punch outs from the Authentique Seafarer collection, which matched what I wanted for this project. I did have to smudge the lettering with a bit of Antique Linen Distress Ink as it was very white.
To create the compass, I punched the image from paper, then glued it to a chipboard button that had had a little accident and was ruined. Ta-da! Brand new chipboard item!
Thanks for joining me today! Have fun hopping!

Good decision to tone down the stark white lettering...looks great. By the Sea is one of my favorite G45 collections and I have loads in my stash...wonderful colors and images. I wouldn't have thought to use 2 different ribbons...I may have to give this a try. That plaid print is sweet!! Interesting to carry thru on using a diagonal split on the layering...very unique way to do this. Love this card!!

So much pretty interest to look at. I love the postcard & postage stamp theme. My dad collected stamps so it reminds me of him.
